Jiwei Network news, UMC announced today (28) that the company's subsidiary Lianxin Integrated Circuit Manufacturing (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Lianxin) purchased equipment worth NT$3.246 billion from the semiconductor equipment factory Applied Materials.
According to public information, Lianxin is a first-class wafer specialized enterprise for the manufacture of cutting-edge integrated circuits jointly established by UMC, Xiamen Municipal People's Government and Fujian Electronics Group, engaged in semiconductor manufacturing in Xiamen, Fujian Province, and provides 12-inch wafer specialized service.
According to the Taiwan media "Economic Daily", industry insiders pointed out that the monthly production capacity of Lianxin in the third quarter of last year has reached the scale of 27,500 pieces in the first phase, and it is currently mainly to improve the operational efficiency of a factory.
