Recently, it was learned from the official that Tesla has decided to voluntarily recall some Model 3 models to complete the inspection and maintenance of the trunk wiring harness.
It is understood that after the trunk of the vehicle within the scope of this recall is repeatedly opened and closed for a long time, it may cause excessive wear of the trunk wiring harness, if the wear causes the core separation of the coaxial cable, it may cause the reversing image to fail to work properly, thus affecting the driver's vision when reversing, and in extreme cases, it will increase the risk of collision when reversing, and there is a safety hazard.
This recall applies to some imported Model 3s between October 4, 2018 and November 20, 2019, and some domestically produced Model 3s with production dates from October 14, 2019 to December 27, 2020.
At present, a number of car owners have received Tesla's recall notice information, but due to the huge number of models involved in this recall, the official did not give a specific recall time, but let the affected owners wait for the service personnel to take the initiative to contact, make an appointment for inspection and repair.
In fact, the domestic recall was released at the end of last year, according to Tesla's filing with the U.S. Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA), a total of 356309 Model 3s worldwide have been recalled.
It should be noted that due to the use of different materials of the trunk wiring harness design, the 2021 Model 3 is not included in this recall.
