The jade tiger of the Shang Dynasty, the jade sheep of the Han Dynasty, the white jade goose head belt ditch of the Song Dynasty, the white jade carved dragon pattern belt ornament of the Yuan Dynasty, the Qing Dynasty Qingyu Qianlong Imperial Inscription Cloud Dragon Pattern Urn... 230 pieces of ancient jade were displayed in the Summer Palace Museum.

On the occasion of the Spring Festival, the Summer Palace held the "Jade Seeing Vitality - Jade Exhibition of Ancient Chinese Animal and Plant Themes", exhibiting more than 230 pieces of animal and plant-themed jade from the Shang Dynasty to the early years of the Republic of China, showing the unique aesthetic concept of the Chinese nation for natural things and superb jade carving technology.

The exhibition brings together the collections of three cultural institutions from the Summer Palace Administration Office, the Institute of Qing History of Chinese University, and the Beijing Art Museum, of which 111 pieces (sets) of jade are collected in the Summer Palace, which are divided into five units: Dragon Flying Phoenix Dance, Rui Beast Spirit Bird, Domestic Feng Tianyang, Zhenmu Meihui, and Seasonal Vegetables and Fruits.

The first unit" "Dragon Flying Phoenix Dance" exhibited 40 pieces of jade artifacts with dragon and phoenix images, showing the history of jade culture development and the evolution of dragon and phoenix images in different historical periods.

The second unit, "Rui Beast Spirit Bird", exhibited 55 jade carved cultural relics modeled on Rui Beast and Spirit Bird. The star exhibit in the exhibition, Shang Dai Yuhu, is in this exhibition area. This jade tiger is more than 3,000 years old, small and simple, but the length of a fountain pen, shaped by Crouching Tiger, the shape is concise, using few simple lines to express the inner spirit and overall effect of Tiggo. Its shape is very similar to a jade tiger excavated from the tomb of Yin Xu's women, which belongs to the typical Shang Dynasty jade style.

The third unit, "Jia Feng Tianyang", exhibits 62 pieces of jade objects with the themes of butterfly swallow fish worms, chicken dogs, geese and cats, reflecting the gradual secularization and realism of Chinese jade culture after the Tang and Song dynasties.

The Summer Palace in the independent display cabinet contains a first-class cultural relic, the green jade lying cow, which is made of huge materials and shows the royal courage. The cultural relics are from the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, using techniques such as circular carving and line carving, lying on the body of the cattle, lying prone, looking back, looking at each other, looking pleasant, as if taking a nap. The jade is warm and moist, cleverly designed, finely carved, refined lines and polished.

The fourth unit, "Jiamu Lianghui", exhibits 27 pieces of jade with flowers and trees as the theme, reflecting that since the Ming and Qing dynasties, the practicality and furnishings of jade have been further enhanced, and it is suitable for the development of literary ware, mountain zi, interstitial screens and so on for plant carving.

The fifth unit, "Seasonal Vegetables and Fruits", exhibited 46 pieces of jade in the shape of vegetables and fruits represented by gourds, bergamots, and peaches. Such as the white jade mushroom-shaped pendant in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the jasper carved flower "Daji" gourd-shaped screen core in the Qianlong period, and the white jade carving "Fushou Wannian" in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty.

"Jade Seeing Vitality : Jade With Ancient Chinese Animal and Plant Themes" is on display at the Summer Palace Museum from January 28 to April 10 (closed on Mondays). The reception volume of the Summer Palace Museum is controlled and limited, and 75% of the passenger flow is controlled, and when the number of tourists is close to the maximum saturation, the admission to the museum is suspended.
