Known as the "first person of Hongshan culture", the honorary president of the Liaoning Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, the famous archaeologist Guo Dashun, the famous Hongshan cultural scholar and connoisseur Hong Dianxu, edited the third edition of "Hongshan Cultural Jade Appreciation" was published by the Cultural Relics Publishing House in February 2022 and published at home and abroad. This monograph is not only the result of years of research by the two gentlemen, but also the authoritative work of hongshan cultural jade appreciation.

The third edition of "Hongshan Culture Jade Appreciation" includes nearly 220 specimens (groups) of Hongshan culture jade, including archaeological excavations and old collections of domestic professional museums and archaeological research institutes in Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin, Henan, Shaanxi, Shanghai and other domestic professional museums, as well as the early collections of museums in the United States, Britain, France, Canada and other countries and regions, and according to the actual situation of the discovery and collection of these specimens, according to the official excavations, excavation units, excavation sites, excavation sites, The excavated areas and other precious items are classified and arranged separately, reflecting the scientific rigor.

Mr. Guo Dashun told his experience in studying Hongshan cultural jade for many years from four aspects, such as material selection, polishing, ornamentation, and burial customs.

Mr. Hong Dianxu introduced in detail the "basic methods of jade identification of Hongshan culture", proposed the identification of ancient jade, including the combination of theory and practice, after a long period of practical exploration, to find out the law of its historical development, and then summarized a set of practical methods, and in practice constantly summarized, not bound by inherent creeds, only to have a breakthrough and achievements.

At present, in addition to the official archaeological excavations of Hongshan cultural jade in Niuheliang and other sites in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, there are also many collections scattered in various places, and there is no book that focuses on this batch of scattered objects, so the publication of this monograph is not only a must-read for appreciating Hongshan cultural jade, but also has important reference value for the study of Hongshan cultural jade.
