On January 27, in the Tesla earnings conference call, CEO Musk said that this year will be the site of the next Tesla gigafactory, and the results are expected to be announced at the end of this year.

Tesla's financial report shows that Tesla currently has 4 super factories in the world, of which the Fremont super factory in California and the super factory in Shanghai, China are the only two factories that are fully operational. In the whole year of 2021, Tesla delivered a total of 936,000 new vehicles, of which the Shanghai Gigafactory produced 484,100 units, accounting for 51.7% of the annual output, in addition to meeting the local market in China, some of which were also exported to Europe, Asia and other countries.
In Tesla's view, local production is crucial to reducing vehicle production costs and improving the stability of global supply chains. As a result, it has built new gigafactories in Austin, Texas, and Berlin, Germany, in the past two years. Although the start of production of the factories has been delayed due to the epidemic and environmental protection reasons, according to the latest forecasts, both factories will be officially put into operation in the first quarter of this year. For Tesla, the commissioning of the Berlin plant will allow it to take root in Europe and further increase its market share in the European market. Previously, according to statistical agencies, the Tesla Model 3 became the most popular electric vehicle in 11 European countries in 2021. The establishment of the new factory can not only achieve its goal of localization production, but also greatly increase Tesla's production capacity, in addition to driving employment in the relevant location countries, which can be described as a multi-pronged event.
