After a long wait, Alpha Romeo finally announced the release date of the new compact SUV - Tonale, in the official release poster, we learned that the new car will usher in the world debut on February 8 (February 7, Beijing time). To date, Alfa Romeo has postponed the launch of the new car twice, first because the brand's CEO Jean-Philippe lmparato is not satisfied with the power performance of the plug-in hybrid system model, and the second time due to a global chip shortage. Today, the veteran Italian sports car manufacturer is finally ready to go into production.
Through the tight camouflage of the previously exposed spy photos, we can roughly see the exterior design of this compact SUV, and the sculptural lines outline a simple and neat body, which is reminiscent of the classic hatchback sports cars in the history of the brand such as the 147 and Brera. In terms of size, Tonale's length, width and height are 4528*1835*1604mm, and the wheelbase has reached 2636mm.
In terms of power, the plug-in hybrid model will be equipped with a powertrain of 1.3L turbocharged gasoline engine + rear-wheel electric motor, with a total system power of 179 kW (240 hp) and a battery capacity of 11.3 kWh. Other power options include a 97 kW (130 hp) in-line four-cylinder 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol engine, a 48v hybrid model with the same engine and a total system power of 119 kW (160 hp), and a 1.6 L diesel engine with a maximum power of 97 kW (130 hp).
