Seeing the feelings of things, the septuagenarian tells about the excavation of national treasures

The Jimu news reporter saw at the exhibition site that the Chongyang copper drum is about 75 cm high and the diameter of the drum surface is about 40 cm, which is composed of three parts: the copper drum body, the copper drum seat and the copper drum crown.

"This bronze drum has a thick and simple texture, a strange and solemn shape, and a smooth and extensive pattern, which represents the production characteristics and level of bronze craftsmanship in the Shang Dynasty on the mainland." Fang Qin, director of the Hubei Provincial Museum, introduced that this copper drum is the earliest copper drum seen in the mainland, and it is also one of the only two-sided Shang Dynasty gluttonous copper drums that exist in the world, and the other side was lost in Japan in the early years and is now stored in the Kyoto Izumiya HakukoKan.

As a national treasure-level cultural relic, the bronze drum is a precious physical material for studying the ancient bronze art of the mainland and the ritual music system of slave society, and has been selected as an "Exhibit of Chinese Cultural Relics" and has been sent to more than 40 countries and regions such as the United States, Britain and France for touring exhibitions. It was also publicly exhibited at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.

An old man with silver hair and a strong spirit was particularly excited when he saw the Chongyang brass drum. His name is Liu Sanbao, who is 74 years old this year, and before retiring, he served as the director of the Chongyang County Museum in Xianning City.

Facing the national treasure, Liu Sanbao's thoughts were pulled back to 45 years ago. On June 14, 1977, the Xinyan Brigade of Baini Commune in Chongyang County (now Dashi Village, Baini Town) received heavy rain and flash floods. Villagers Cheng Zhenghua, Cheng Guozhang and 4 other people went to the dashi river to check the flood, and Cheng Zhenghua suddenly found a strange big "knot". Go up and shake it with your hand, but don't shake it. The four of them dug together for hours and actually dug out a copper drum. The village cadres hurried to report to their superiors.

Liu Sanbao was working at the Chongyang County Cultural Center at the time, and the next day he rushed to the scene to inspect it, and was surprised that this was a valuable cultural relic, so he publicized the national cultural relics regulations, and Cheng Zhenghua and others handed over the copper drum. Subsequently, cultural relics experts repeatedly examined and identified, confirming that this is a copper drum of the Noodle Shang Dynasty, dating back to about 3,000 years, and later collected in the Hubei Provincial Museum, which has become the treasure of the museum's top ten towns.

Today, cheng Zhenghua and four other farmers who excavated cultural relics on the spot have passed away, but the story of the copper drum is still circulating.

"I have a special love for Chongyang copper drums, and I have visited the Hubei Provincial Museum twice. In 1993, I learned in the cultural relics newspaper that the bronze drum was exhibited in the Forbidden City in Beijing, and I rushed to see it for two days. During the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the brass drum was exhibited at the Capital Museum, and I rushed over to admire it. Liu Sanbao told the Jimu news reporter that every time he saw it, he was particularly kind.

The integration of culture and tourism creates more beautiful poetry and distant places

Li Zhen, director of the Xianning Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, told jimu news reporters that Xianning is known as the "south gate of Hubei", and there are 8 national key cultural relics protection units and 54 provincial-level cultural relics protection units in the territory.

In January this year, a joint archaeological team composed of the School of History of Wuhan University, the Xianning Museum and other units carried out archaeological investigation around the Western Zhou Dayong Bell excavated from Wangjiazui, Tiancheng Town, Chongyang County, and finally confirmed two important sites of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, Wangjiazui and Screwding, which had great research value. The archaeological investigation work in the two areas of Chongyang Baini and Tongshan Nanlin Bridge is also about to be launched, finding a more clear settlement and crowd carrier for the bronze heavy objects excavated in the past, sorting out the historical context of the development of civilization in the Shang and Zhou Dynasties in the region, and helping the exploration of Yangtze River civilization.
