The Winter Olympics ignited a fiery passion for ice and snow. After years of continuous promotion, from the Saiwai Dam to the Ji'nan Plain, from the Taihang Mountains to the shores of the Bohai Sea, ice and snow sports have flourished in Yanzhao. At present, more than 30 million people in the province are participating in ice and snow sports.

The Beijing Winter Olympics are approaching, and all the snow fields in Chongli District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, have undertaken the task of supporting the games, and they are now closed to prepare for the game. Located in the Yanshan Mountains, the "Snow Country" Chongli has a unique resource advantage, embracing 7 large ski resorts such as Wanlong, Taiwu, Genting, Fulong and Cuiyun mountain, of which 4 ski resorts such as Taiwu and Wanlong are among the "Top 10 Ski Resorts in China". There are 169 pistes in the area with a total length of 162 km, of which 15 are certified by the International Snow Federation.
The Laiyuan National Ski Jumping Training and Scientific Research Base, located in the Taihang Mountains, has also played an important role in the training and preparation of the winter project national team. The two jumping slides here are built according to the 1:1 ratio of "Snow Ruyi" in the Chongli area of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, and have become the venues for some ice and snow events.
In Yixian County, Hebei Province, an old revolutionary area, the Wolf's Tooth Mountain Ski Resort has more than 10 ski trails, including advanced roads, wave paths, intermediate roads, beginner roads, practice paths and children's roads, and has a "Snow Cube" covering an area of 400,000 square meters to carry out ice and snow entertainment projects.
In the Happy Hui Shopping Mall in Yuhua District, Shijiazhuang City, an ice skating rink covering an area of more than 300 square meters has attracted many skating enthusiasts. Zhang Peng, a citizen of Shijiazhuang, said that there is an ice skating rink not far from home, and it is difficult to catch the trend.
At present, there are more than 200 skating halls built in Hebei Province, realizing that there are indoor skating halls in counties and counties, and many urban shopping malls have also built skating areas with real ice and simulated ice. These facilities provide a strong guarantee for the holding of the Ice and Snow Games and the promotion and popularization of mass ice and snow sports.
"Thousands of families" skiing and skating
"College students have a strong ability to accept new things and have plenty of time, which is very suitable for promoting ice and snow sports." Wang Fang, director of the Sports Research Department of Hebei University, said that the school invested nearly 2 million yuan to build an ice and snow experience center, and ice and snow sports have become one of the options for university sports courses. Through competitions and knowledge lectures, the school has attracted more than 10,000 teachers and students from all over the school to participate in sports competitions, and radiation has driven 26,000 teachers and students to participate in ice and snow sports.
In recent years, Hebei Province has taken the creation of a "national innovative ice and snow sports development system and mechanism pilot province" as the starting point to promote ice and snow sports to the grassroots, to the school, to the community, to the countryside. The community ice and snow games at the "doorstep" of the masses, the "ice and snow caravans" around the people, the parks, shopping malls and ice sports experience areas that can be seen everywhere, and the "campus ice and snow season" activities that are constantly online throughout the year, let the ice and snow sports enter thousands of households.
On the ninth cold day, many people gathered in the square of the national fitness center in Pingshan County, Shijiazhuang City. Hebei Province's "Ice and Snow Caravan" 100 cities and thousands of villages tour experience activities came here to send ice and snow sports experience projects to the masses. Ice and snow sports experience areas such as land hockey, desktop curling, and ski simulators were set up at the event site, and staff and volunteers guided everyone to experience ice and snow sports by hand.
Zhang Zefeng, secretary of the party group and director of the Hebei Provincial Sports Bureau, said that more than 500 "ice and snow caravans" have formed a promotion model of "catching up with the big market in the morning, entering the school in the afternoon, and entering the community on weekends". At present, the "ice and snow caravan" has entered more than 5,600 administrative villages, covering 93% of the townships in the province.
"Science class talents" help teaching

Li Danyang, a 2020 graduate of the Department of Ice and Snow Sports of Hebei University of Physical Education, said that she learned courses such as alpine skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skating and other courses at school, and was born to teach in the "science class", which can be taught according to the talents and help students master skiing skills scientifically.
Liu Zhenzhong, director of the Department of Ice and Snow Sports of Hebei University of Physical Education, said that the school established the Department of Ice and Snow Sports in 2015, and now has three undergraduate training directions such as ice and snow sports, with more than 1,700 students in school, which is one of the largest talent training bases for undergraduate students in ice and snow sports in the country, and has sent a group of talents and teachers for the development of ice and snow sports. In the past two years, more than 530 ice and snow graduates have entered ice and snow venues, training institutions, schools, and some have entered education management departments and ice and snow enterprise units to engage in management work.
Zhangjiakou College is the first batch of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games training base, the school began to start the "know skiing, know first aid, understand etiquette, understand English, understand culture" five understanding curriculum construction since 2017, by the end of 2020, the school 771 teachers, 12944 college students have participated in ski practice teaching activities, in recent years trained 389 national ski vocational instructors, 400 social ski instructors.
According to a survey commissioned by the National Bureau of Statistics by the State General Administration of Sport, the number of participants in ice and snow sports in the country is 346 million, and the participation rate of residents has reached 24.56%. According to the statistics of the Sports Industry Research Institute of Chinese Min University and other units, the number of people participating in ice and snow sports in Hebei Province reached 30.48 million, and the participation rate exceeded 40%.
