However, with the rapid rise of the Bobber style, the Flash series also began to transform, and the success of the Flash 300S opened up a new direction for the development of the Flash series family, so the new models of the Flash 500 also came.
A few days ago, at the headquarters of Zhejiang QJMOTOR, the new Flash 500 was officially unveiled, which is the second appearance since the debut of the 2021 Chongqing Motorcycle Expo. Unlike the previous models on display, this time the Flash 500 uses a new color scheme and prints, and the American cruise style is more obvious, and future mass production models will also use this color matching.
Transform into Bobber style
The change in the appearance style of the new Flash 500 is particularly obvious, the old Flash 500 is a proper sports cruise wind, the new Flash 500 is a typical Bobber style, of course, this may also be the future family design of the "Flash" series, because the Flash 700 is also this style.
Compared with the changes in appearance, the internal changes of the new Flash 500 are much smaller, and the visible frame, front and rear suspension, front and rear brakes, engines, exhaust pipes, etc., basically follow the old one. However, the new Flash 500 not only retains the chain-driven version, but also offers a belt-driven version.
After the stylization of the whole car Bobber, coupled with the new color matching and printmaking, the new Flash 500 can also achieve a dazzling effect, and it should be emphasized here that the new Flash 500 exhibited this time is only an engineering prototype, not the final mass production specifications.
Changes in the details section
The family characteristics of the new Flash 500 are more obvious, and the changes in the headlights are particularly prominent, replaced by the LED single headlights of the same design of the Flash 300S, including the round LED front and rear turn signals.
The old combination of gauges is replaced by a full LCD dial, the new model of the instrument and the Yi 550 is the same model, this instrument has a stronger sense of technology and practicality, and the layout inside the dial is quite elaborate.
The "droplet type" fuel tank is an indispensable classic design for Bobber style cruise, compared to the old sports style, the new design is more simple and atmospheric, bright colors with authentic American style prints, making the overall American style style stronger. And because of the change in the shape of the fuel tank, the capacity is 2 liters (16 liters) more than the old model.
The design of the old detached seat cushion was retained, but the seat design of the driver's seat, from the previous non-slip fabric, was changed to an embossed surface similar to a caterpillar cushion. Because of the replacement of more "fat" tires, the seat height was increased to 710mm, which was 10mm higher than the old model.
The general outline of the rear has not changed, the area of the taillights has been increased, and the decoration similar to the flash 300S has been added to the side brackets, and the new model has removed the rocker-type license plate frame and redesigned it to the traditional position.
The adjustable left and right front foot pedals have been retained, which is worthy of praise, after all, the cruising model's foot pedal position is relatively front, considering the short-legged user group, this function is still very practical.
Hardware specifications do not change much
KYB's upright front shock absorber, adjustable side KYB unilateral rear shock, 300mm front brake disc, 250mm rear brake disc, dual-channel ABS, etc., are almost the same as the old model.
However, the tires of the new model of the Flash 500 have been replaced by road tires to the "fat tires" commonly found on Bobbyr models. In the future, we will also provide large tires in front and back (18 inches in front and 17 inches in the back).
Belt drive is one of the highlights of the new Flash 500, and like the Flash 300S Belt Edition, the Flash 500 chose Gates as the supplier of the belt.
The power part, or the 500cc displacement, in-line twin-cylinder water-cooled engine, the maximum power of 36kW/ 8500rpm, the maximum torque of 47Nm/5500rpm, the standard sliding clutch.

The change in appearance and style is the most intuitive, the atmosphere of the cruise style is more intense, and because of the addition of belt transmission, the new model of the Flash 500 is full of large rows of cruise style. The hardware part and the changes of the old model are not much different, but it is still only the engineering prototype stage, and it is not known whether there will be changes in the future.
The current price of the flash 500 is 36,999 yuan, and the new model will probably be listed in the middle of 2022, but this year's domestic motorcycle market competition will be more intense, so the pricing of the new model is still very exciting.
