German media: Bayern will no longer look for a successor for Neuer in the short term, and the U19 goalkeeper may be promoted

According to the German media SPORT1, with neuer's contract renewal coming to an end, Bayern Munich will not look for a future long-term successor for Neuer in the short term.

According to previous reports in a number of German media, Bayern Munich is about to renew the contract with captain Neuer for 3 years, and he will play at least in Munich until 2025. The club's top brass believe Neuer can still fully maintain the status quo level in the coming years, which also means that the team's reserve number two goalkeeper Nubel will have no future at the club.

Nubel is currently on loan at Monaco and the team's current number two goalkeeper will be Urreich, though his contract expires this summer. According to SPORT1 reports, Bayern Munich may make some changes in the position of the second goalkeeper, with goalkeeper Ortega from Bielefeld still interested in them and is considered Neuer's new replacement.

In addition, Bayern Munich may also solve this problem with an internal solution, the coaching staff is satisfied with the performance of U19's current 18-year-old goalkeeper Johannes Schenk, who has regularly trained with the first team and is well received in the academy. If Fluchter is not on the first-team squad next season, Johannes Schenk will be hopefully promoted to the first-team and England-based goalkeeper Hoffman is unlikely to return.
