At 9:00 a.m. on January 22, the official website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervision Commission announced that Wang Minghui, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and was currently under disciplinary review and supervision and investigation by the Central Discipline Inspection Commission and the State Supervision Commission.
He has been working in Sichuan for a long time
Wang Minghui, male, Han ethnicity, born in February 1960, Sichuan Ziyang people, joined the Communist Party of China in October 1980, joined the work in December 1977, graduated from the Party School of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, majoring in modern management, and graduated from the Party School of the Provincial Party Committee.
Public information shows that he has been working in Sichuan Province for a long time.
In December 1977, he became a water conservancy officer in Mingyang Township, Ziyang County, Sichuan Province, and in April 1981, he was appointed as a clerk in the Ziyang County Personnel Bureau.
Since November 1981, he has successively served as deputy secretary of the Ziyang County Greeting Township Party Committee, deputy secretary of the Ziyang County Committee of the Communist Youth League of Sichuan Province, deputy secretary and secretary of the Wuhuang District Committee of Ziyang County, Sichuan Province, deputy director of the Ziyang County Agricultural Trade Office, deputy secretary of the Ziyang County Party Committee, deputy secretary of the Lezhi County Party Committee, secretary of the County Party Committee, deputy secretary of the Ziyang Prefectural Committee, deputy secretary of the Ziyang Municipal Party Committee, deputy secretary of the Ziyang Municipal Party Committee, and mayor of Neijiang City.
In June 2007, Wang Minghui became deputy secretary-general and director of the general office of the new Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, and six years later, he was transferred to the secretary of the Yibin Municipal Party Committee.
After working in Yibin for three years, in June 2016, Wang Minghui was promoted to vice governor of Sichuan Province, responsible for agriculture, poverty alleviation and development, immigration, ethnic religion, civil affairs, human resources and social security, land resources and other work.
In March 2017, Wang Minghui was appointed Secretary General of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, and in May 2017, he became a member of the Standing Committee of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and continued to serve as the Secretary-General of the Provincial Party Committee.
In May 2020, Wang Minghui was transferred to the standing committee of the Sichuan Provincial People's Congress and deputy secretary of the party group, less than two years ago.
On January 12, he went out to supervise and recently missed important meetings
Zheng Zhijun noted that on the morning of January 12, 2022, Wang Minghui still had public activities.
On the morning of the same day, Wang Minghui and others led a team to Deyang City to carry out visits and condolence activities. In the afternoon, the Standing Committee of the Deyang Municipal CPC Committee held a special democratic life meeting on party history study and education, and Wang Minghui attended the meeting to supervise.
At that meeting, Wang Minghui also mentioned that it is necessary to "firmly promote the comprehensive development from strict party management to in-depth development, thoroughly implement the party's organizational line in the new era, resolutely safeguard ideological security, continue to exert efforts to rectify the work style and discipline, and consciously promote self-revolution with the courage to face problems squarely and the blade inward."
This is not the first time that Wang Minghui has gone out to supervise.
In May 2021, he also went to Deyang to investigate and supervise the city's party history study and education.
At that time, he also vowed to "always maintain the correct political direction" and "advocate great virtue and loyalty to the party, firmly establish public morality and seek the people, and adhere to private morality and strict self-discipline."
According to the Sichuan News Network, on the afternoon of January 17, the presidium of the congress, elected by the preparatory meeting for the fifth session of the 13th Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, held its first meeting. At that time, the meeting voted to elect 13 people as the executive chairman of the presidium of the conference, including Wang Minghui.
However, the scene showed that Wang Minghui did not attend the meeting.
On the evening of January 18 and the evening of January 20, the Presidium of the Fifth Session of the 13th Sichuan Provincial People's Congress held its second and third meetings, and Wang Minghui was absent.
The second tiger of Sichuan
Wang Minghui was the second tiger in Sichuan to fall after the 19th Party Congress. Before him, in April 2019, Peng Yuxing, then vice governor of Sichuan Province, was investigated.
In October 2019, Peng Yuxing was expelled from the party, dismissed from government affairs, and demoted to a fourth-level researcher.
The Discipline Inspection Commission reported that Peng Yuxing had lost the political loyalty and political consciousness of a senior party cadre; had broken up groups to go abroad in violation of regulations and taken advantage of opportunities to travel; organized and participated in banquets and lodging receptions paid for with public funds in violation of regulations; accepted banquets that might affect the fair execution of official duties, and used transportation in excess of standards; abused his power for personal gain, accepted other people's property and embezzled public property; interfered in project establishment and appraisal activities in violation of regulations; was morally corrupt, pursued low-level interests, and engaged in trading power and money.
Wang Minghui is the fourth provincial and ministerial cadre to be investigated in 2022.
Earlier, Zhang Yongze, vice chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region Government, Wang Bin, chairman of the board of directors of Chinese Life Insurance (Group) Company, and Liu Hongwu, vice chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government, have been examined and investigated one after another.
