India has also dreamed of contributing to world peace, which is qualified to sit on an equal footing with the five permanents

The United Nations has many subordinate organizations and components, but most of them have little coercive power, while the Security Council has the power to authorize the launch of war, and belongs to one of the few "real power departments", so it is the object of contention among the major powers. The permanent seats on the Security Council held by the five major powers of China, the United States, Russia, Britain and France have made other countries salivate, and India is the most typical one.

India's "normal" thing has been tossed around for many years, but so far there has been no progress. This has almost become a heart disease of Indians, so that any matter of rubbing edges is easily related to it. According to Indian media reports recently, India will send an infantry battalion to the Abyei region of Africa to carry out peacekeeping missions next month.

In this regard, India's special envoy to the United Nations, Tirumossi, believes that this proves that India has made great contributions to world peace, so he once again put forward India's demand for "normalization" and called on the Security Council to carry out reform. Tirumossi said India's large-scale dispatch of UN peacekeeping forces deserves to sit on an equal footing with the five permanents and is eligible for a permanent seat on the Security Council.

If I am not mistaken, the statement made by India's special envoy to the United Nations should be related to India's low voice in international affairs. However, india is not only involved in peacekeeping operations, but other non-permanent members of the Security Council have also made great efforts, and New Delhi is suspected of exaggerating and showing off its contributions. Moreover, peacekeeping is originally a matter within the responsibility of all countries and an international obligation, and India's "merits" are really not worth bragging about.

In fact, not only India, but also Japan, Germany, and Brazil have been plotting to enter the norm, and a four-nation alliance has been formed for this purpose in the past few years. In addition, countries such as Turkey and Nigeria are also eager to try this problem. There are even proposals within the EU to cede France's permanent seat to the EU.

It can be said that many countries are using their brains in this regard. However, is it really that easy to get into the norm? A common problem among these countries is that they have not figured out the source of the Council's powers. The current United Nations was agreed upon by the five major powers of China, the United States, Russia, Britain and France after the end of World War II when they arranged the post-war order, and they all made great contributions to World War II and are well-deserved world leaders.

Later countries, even if their strength has increased, they have not contributed to all mankind, and they are certainly not qualified to decide on global affairs. For example, Japan itself is a defeated country in World War II, and one of the purposes of the establishment of the United Nations is to prevent the defeated countries from endangering the world again, so Japan has even been deprived of its military and the right to fight.

At the same time, Japan still refuses to recognize its acts of aggression, and he will never be able to pass this hurdle with China alone. Although Germany has a better attitude of admitting guilt and has a higher international status than Japan, the identity of the defeated country is there and cannot be completely washed away. Brazil is a large country, but weak and isolated, with little influence over global affairs.

India's private development of nuclear weapons in 1998 is itself a serious violation of the spirit of the United Nations, and at the same time, it has a long-term confrontation with Pakistan, China and other neighboring countries, which does not look like it wants to maintain world peace. Since the establishment of the United Nations, the permanent members of the Security Council have changed only twice, one is China's retraction of its occupied seats, and the other is Russia's replacement of the destroyed Soviet Union.

But neither of these are new seats, but only replacements, and the contributions of China and Russia in World War II cannot be erased by anyone. Judging from the current situation, it is basically impossible for India to become a permanent member. India's national strength is insufficient, and although its economic strength is good, there are still a large number of poor people in the country, poor basic education, high illiteracy rates, slow infrastructure progress, and strong remnants of the caste system. Such a country cannot be a world leader.

In the past few years, Countries such as India have traveled around the world and seem to have won the support of some permanent members, such as Russia's repeated explicit support for India's entry into normal, and the United States has also expressed its support for Japan, but these are empty promises. When it comes time for the UNITED To vote, proposals to increase, reduce, and change the permanent membership of the UN Security Council will be rejected by the five major powers.

The reason is very simple: Security Council seats are not available to anyone who is strong, so the Security Council will become a gladiatorial arena for major powers, and existence will lose its meaning. At present, the strength of the five major countries is in the world's first group, and they are all guaranteed by historical merits, and the peacekeeping operations in a regional area are completely insufficient for India to touch the threshold of permanent membership of the Security Council.

In recent months, Russia and the West have been facing off at the Russian-Ukrainian border, and the five permanent members of the United Nations have issued a joint statement stressing that nuclear war cannot be fought or won, drawing a "border" for the conflict.

Earlier in 2018, with the United States providing safety assurances, Russia providing transport aircraft, and the nuclear material from the Nigerian nuclear reactor being transported to a nuclear power plant in China for harmless treatment, the whole process was completed in one go. A major international operation like this can only be carried out by the Five Permanents of the United Nations. India, now far from reaching that level.
