The winter weather in northern Saibei is particularly cold, they wear thick coats and yellow vests, and they use the "skylight point" of Daqin to "take the pulse" of the 130-148 km line of the Daqin heavy vehicle line in order to detect diseases early and deal with them as soon as possible.

As the main component of the railway line foundation, the steel rail bears the pressure of thousands of tons from the vehicle, and after years and months, the rail will also "get sick", and a group of "rail doctors" shuttle on the Daqin Line, running between the rails all year round, "taking the pulse" for the rails.

"For 31 years, the 101.5-kilometer Daqin line under our jurisdiction has not missed the responsibility inspection, and I hope that our flaw detection team will keep this record" This is the dream of foreman Wu Yonghong. The flaw detection work he was engaged in was often praised by the image of the Great Qin people as the person who "took the pulse" of the rail.

The speed of the flaw detector can not exceed two kilometers per hour, if pushed faster, millimeter-level injury waves flash by, it is difficult to find, easy to miss detection. Accompanied by the "drip" sound emitted by the flaw detector, Wu Yonghong stopped from time to time to check the waveform displayed by the instrument, and bent down to re-examine whether the surface of the rail was damaged. When he encountered an abnormal waveform, he immediately confirmed the injury wave, he bent his knees on the hard sleeper, the chill soaked into his bones through the cotton coat, still bending his waist like a bow, and sometimes taking out a small mirror to carefully examine the bottom of the track.

It is difficult to "take the pulse", and it is even more difficult to "take the pulse" to the rail! Because rails have no language. To this end, he actively learned theoretical knowledge, studied business skills assiduously, mastered new technology for flaw detection as soon as possible, closely followed the replacement of flaw detection, put the new knowledge in the book into practice, and explored a set of "machine inspection, eye, hand knocking, mirror view" flaw detection work method. In the past 31 years, Wu Yonghong seems to be alive, and the railway lines he has traveled, under his command, the diseases of the rails have not been discovered. From 7:00 a.m. to 14:00 noon, it is six or seven hours to walk, from winter to summer, rain or shine, and it is 31 spring and autumn. He has won many honors such as Datong Engineering Section, Outstanding Communist Party Member of The Group Company, "Locomotive" Medal, etc., and he was rated as "Gold Medal" Foreman by Datong Engineering Section.
