The "Manufacturing Power Development Index Report" proposes for the first time that the "resilience" supply chain of China's manufacturing constitutes an important foundation for "resilience"

Recently, the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the National Manufacturing Power Construction Strategy Advisory Committee jointly released the "2021 China Manufacturing Power Development Index Report", which systematically summarized the process and experience of the mainland's manufacturing power construction in 2015-2020, and put forward the characteristics of "resilience" of China's manufacturing for the first time.

The "Report" pointed out that in the past five years, the development index of China's manufacturing power has increased from 105.78 to 116.02, and the overall trend of the manufacturing industry is stable and improving, achieving rapid market response, reflecting the strong mobilization and organizational ability of various production factors. Especially in 2020, in the face of the complex international environment and the arduous and heavy domestic reform, development and stability tasks, as well as the serious impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic and the Sino-US trade dispute, China's manufacturing industry has withstood a huge test, achieved the largest increase in the development index of the world's major manufacturing powers, and demonstrated a strong "resilience".

At the report press conference, Shan Zhongde, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, once said that the strong resilience of the mainland manufacturing industry is reflected in the following aspects: actively responding to multiple severe challenges at home and abroad, achieving rapid market response, and achieving a strong mobilization and organizational ability for various production factors; the industrial system is complete, the product categories are complete, and it is constantly deeply integrated into all aspects of the global industrial chain.

As the most basic operation and management link of industrial manufacturing, the supply chain has also achieved remarkable results in deepening the coupling of each link and strengthening the coordination of upstream and downstream, which constitutes a solid foundation for manufacturing "resilience". For example, in the procurement of industrial products, due to the large number of industrial products and non-standard products, most enterprises' one-time purchase orders often involve multiple logistics companies and multi-local warehousing.
