In order to fully demonstrate that "public art is art that serves the public and the people" and vividly highlights the "quality, friendliness, wisdom and vitality" of Wanli style, the "Wanli Sightseeing" - 12 Pavilions Lighting Art Season organized by Wanli Street in Putuo District, Putuo District Greening City Appearance Bureau, Central Group and well-known public artist team recently kicked off in Wanli Central Greenland. This activity also officially kicked off the prelude to the improvement of the environmental landscape of Wanli Central Greenland, and the new Wanli Park with public participation, professional blessing and overall improvement is worth everyone's expectations.
The exhibition is divided into four themes: "Winter Warm Light" theme aims to bring winter joy and warmth to the public through light art. "Public Participation, Co-creation" combines community IP collection, community practices of art schools and children's New Year's wishes for the Year of the Tiger, etc., reflecting the most fascinating place of public art - artists and the public together to create new beauty and happiness. And "sustainable environmental protection" is the eternal theme of human beings, but also the sense of mission and responsibility of wanli people, garbage classification can make the best use of it. The superior natural environment provides us with a beautiful home, but also becomes a place of inspiration for creators, and artists have "paid tribute to nature" with their works.
The Shanghai Creative Designers Association provided academic support for the art season, while the Shanghai Vocational College of Arts and Crafts, the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts of Shanghai University, the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts and the Wanli City Experimental Kindergarten actively organized teachers and students to participate in the design and production of the works. Among them, the inflatable device little tiger "Shuai Shuai" originated from a children's painting by Sun Zhenghao, a child in the kindergarten of Wanli City Normal College, and the 61CREATIVE Studio made it into a three-dimensional inflatable toy, which became a co-creation product between artists and children to welcome the New Year of the Tiger.
"Wanli IP Good Neighbor" comes from the Wanli Community IP Collection Activity, and many community residents and art institutions participated in the design of IP. Artist Li Jiaxi re-created on this basis, and worked with everyone to depict the current situation of Wanli and imagine the future of Wanli.
"Public art is 'pan-media', 'local', and even more 'public'. The co-creation of soft activities with the community public, the use of community space as a 'wallless art museum' for artistic practice, and the establishment of interactive bonds with the public through interactive communication and co-creation are the remarkable characteristics of the new type of public art. Liu Yi, curator of this art season, artist, university professor and public art curator, said in the introduction, "May the '12 Pavilions Lighting Art Season' of Wanli Community become a brand IP of Wanli, and look forward to more public and artist participation in the future, and create, share, and resonate together in Wanli!" ”
Wanli Park was formerly the main green belt of the central landscape on the north-south axis of the city, with a length of 1300 meters and a width of 100 meters. The first phase built a 30,000-square-meter central landscape green belt, European-style pavilions, and changed scenery step by step, complementing the fountains, green trees and flowers. The second phase was completed with 27,000 square meters, realizing the harmonious unity of modern architecture, classical gardens and traditional culture, and integrating landscape, ecology and culture.
Built more than 20 years ago, the central green belt facilities are old and aging, and the maintenance of trees and flowers is relatively weak. In order to continuously improve the ecological quality of livability and workability and adapt to the needs of Wanli residents, Wanli Street actively communicates with the District Green Appearance Bureau and Central Group to accelerate the quality improvement and ownership transfer of Wanli Park. In the process of promoting the project, we will always firmly adhere to the people-centered development thinking, do a good job in the overall positioning and planning of the landscape improvement project, improve the landscape while paying attention to strengthening services, and use tangible work results to make residents feel the benefits.
