Speaking of Dong Zhujun, people may feel strange to her. But when it comes to the Jin Jiang Hotel, it is almost universally known. Dong Zhujun was the founder of Jin Jiang Hotel in Shanghai.

As the saying goes, life is like a play, and a play is like life. Dong Zhujun's life, bumpy and cool can be much more exciting than the book. At the age of 13, he was sold into the Qinglou; at the age of 15, he escaped from the magic cave and married an officer; at the age of 34, he divorced and ran away with 4 daughters; he was imprisoned twice; and finally he counterattacked from having nothing to become the president of the Jin Jiang Hotel, and became a business tycoon on the beach that everyone admired...

She was born in 1900 in the slums of Shanghai. His father was a rickshaw puller and his mother was a maid. Younger siblings, one died of illness, one starved to death.

At the age of 13, my father became seriously ill. In order to repay the usury owed due to illness, Dong Zhujun was mortgaged to Qinglou.

She fell into the Green House, selling laughter and singing. Before the separation, her father promised her with tears: "You can rest assured that I will take you home in three years." ”

Perhaps heaven still took care of her, and she met the first noble person in her life. 13-year-old Dong Zhujun met a man who changed his life in the Qinglou, and this man was Xia Shi.

Xia Shi had established an alliance with Sun Yat-sen and Huang Xing in Japan, and at the age of 23, he became the deputy governor of Sichuan, which can be described as a young success.

And Dong Zhujun also liked it very much when he saw such a pillar of the country, and the story of heroes and beauties unfolded. Xia Shi promised Dong Zhujun to redeem herself, at this time only 14 years old Dong Zhujun has a very independent personality, the export is extraordinary, she said that she wants to find a way to escape, do not want to be bought back by Xia Shi in the future, and be slighted.

After Dong Zhujun escaped from the Qinglou, she married Xia Shi, and before getting married, she put forward three conditions for Xia Shi:

First, do not do small;

Second, send her to Japan to study;

Third, after marriage, the male and female protagonists jointly manage the marriage.

Dong Zhujun, who was only in the year of cardamom, could have such courage and ideas, and it seemed that her future life was bound to be extraordinary.

Xia Shi agreed to Dong Zhujun's request, and in 1914, the two held a simple wedding ceremony at the Sun Hu Foreign Company in the Japanese Hotel, Xia Shi was dressed in a suit, handsome and tall, Dong Zhujun was dressed in a French dress, Chu Chu was pleasant. Xia Shi was 27 years old and Dong Zhujun was 15 years old.

After the marriage, Xia Shi fulfilled his promise and, together with Dong Zhujun, went east to Japan and sent her to the Tokyo Girls' Higher Normal School. Dong Zhujun was brilliant and took only three or four years to complete all the courses in the high school.

In 1917, after Dong Zhujun graduated, he returned to Sichuan at the request of Xia Shi. The Xia family is a large local family, a famous and prestigious family, and a large feudal family, and Dong Zhujun is looked down upon by the Xia family because of his birth. Xia Shi's mother once directly told Xia Shi that a woman in the Qinglou could only be small.

Dong Zhujun understood that if he wanted to gain a foothold in such a big family, he must speak with strength. Therefore, she took the initiative to take the initiative to take care of the family up and down, very shrewd and capable. The Xia family gradually changed their minds about her, and even her mother-in-law re-held a wedding for her and Xia Shi.

Although Xia Shi was a progressive person, his ideological concepts were still relatively conservative, coupled with the fact that Dong Zhujun had four daughters in a row, the friction between Xia Shi and Dong Zhujun, who preferred sons over daughters, increased, and the marriage between the two gradually cracked. The trigger that led the two to part ways occurred in 1927.

During this period, Xia Shi was removed from his post and changed from an overseer to an idle man.

In order to escape from reality, he smoked opium and beat his wife when he was drunk. At the same time, dong Zhujun was often constrained by feudal thinking, and she was not allowed to show her face, and only allowed her to be a feudal young grandmother.

Natsuki ignored her four daughters and didn't even want them to go to school. Dong Zhujun insisted that they be well educated.

Once, the two quarreled over a small matter. Natsu rushed into the kitchen in a rage, picked up a kitchen knife and chased her to death. At this moment, Dong Zhujun was completely cold--the man who loved her and respected her was dead.

In 1929, Dong Zhujun left Sichuan with his four daughters and went to Shanghai to start a separate life.

Dong Zhujun's exodus was very sensational at the time, and some newspapers even called her "the Chinese version of the exodus Nala". Xia Shi sneered at Dong Zhujun, saying that if she could gain a foothold in Shanghai, she would fry fish on the palm of her hand.

After leaving the Xia family, Dong Zhujun's life was very difficult. The days are all pawned for a living, from clothes to jewelry, and even the daughter's cello is pawned, but still can't make ends meet.

Dong Zhujun, who went to Shanghai alone, although her life was difficult, but she was not depressed, she lobbied around to make up 4,000 yuan to open a Qunyi yarn pipe factory, becoming the first woman to open a factory at that time.

The roof leaked during the overnight rain. On the one hand, Dong Zhujun was busy managing and operating the factory, and on the other hand, he had to deal with various forces in the turbulent situation, but the times were not good, and in 1932, the yarn pipe factory was razed to the ground in the Battle of Songhu, and Dong Zhujun's years of hard work were gone.

Fortunately, she met the second noble person in her life, Li Chonggao. With his help, Dong Zhujun raised 2,000 yuan and founded Jinjiang Chuan Restaurant.

Business is booming because of its proper management. Even Du Yuesheng often patronized and helped Dong Zhujun expand the storefront. After the founding of New China, the Jin Jiang Hotel hosted many leaders of many countries, and even US President Richard Nixon praised her.

At the time of the ten years of turmoil, Dong Zhujun was 67 years old. Framed as a traitorous agent, she was criticized and imprisoned for five years, and was granted medical parole in 1972. In 1979, Dong Zhujun was rehabilitated. Dong Zhujun died in Beijing in 1997 at the age of 98, leaving behind a 470,000-word autobiography, "My Century."
