He is Li Zemin, who served as secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and, before that, as deputy secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the Shenyang Municipal Party Committee. Originally from Cangxi, Sichuan, he was born in November 1934, when China was worried about internal and external troubles. In 1931, the 918 Incident, which shocked China and foreign countries, followed by the Japanese army invading and occupying all of northeast China in a short period of time, and the anti-Japanese situation in China became more and more tense. In 1935, the July 7 Incident broke out, and the Japanese army deliberately provoked a war under the pretext of the loss of soldiers, which also opened the prelude to the national war of resistance.
In the past eight days of the 77 Incident, our Party has sent the Declaration of Cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party to the Kuomintang, and in mid-August, Chiang Kai-shek was forced to reorganize the Central Red Army into the Eighth Route Army of the National Revolutionary Army, or the Eighth Route Army for short. Our army is good at establishing revolutionary base areas behind enemy lines and at mobilizing the people's forces. When he was a teenager, Li Zemin also heard about it in such an environment, and it can be said that the War of Resistance inspired Li Zemin's patriotic thinking.
Li Zemin grew up in a scholarly school, was admitted to high school in 1949, and joined the army the following year, when Li Zemin was just 17 years old, he wanted to join the military camp, temper his will in the army, and increase his insight. In 1952, Li Zemin went to Korea to participate in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. During his military service, he served as a propaganda officer of the political office of the People's Liberation Army and the People's Volunteer Corps, a cadet of the political work team of the Military and Political Cadre School of the Sichuan Military Region, and was later assigned to chengguan district of the Guiding Prefectural Committee of Guizhou as the secretary of the district party committee.
After Li Zemin joined the work, he wanted to further improve himself. He chose to go to the university to continue his studies, and in 1960 Li Zemin graduated from the National People's Congress. After that, he stayed in the Correspondence College of renmin university and served as the chief secretary and deputy director of the Shenyang Teaching Counseling Station of the correspondence college. During the decade of turmoil, Li Zemin was sent to the countryside to work. After resuming his work, he served as a political teacher in the political work group of Shenyang Agricultural College and deputy director of the Marxist-Leninist Teaching and Research Office. After that, Li Zemin continued to work in Shenyang Agricultural College, because of his outstanding performance and excellent work, Li Zemin was soon discovered by the organization, and then transferred to the standing committee of the Shenyang Municipal Party Committee, successively serving as the director of propaganda, the deputy secretary of the municipal party committee, the deputy secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and the secretary of the Shenyang Municipal Party Committee. During his term of office, Li Zemin was loved by the people of Liaoning.
In December 1988, Li Zemin was transferred to Zhejiang and began to serve as the secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, at that time, the reform and opening up had been 10 years old, and the reform and opening up of several special economic zones had begun to bear fruit. Zhejiang, also a coastal province, naturally cannot fall behind. In 1988, Zhejiang's GDP was only 77.02 billion yuan, and in the decade he was in charge of Zhejiang, Zhejiang's GDP doubled several times, from 77.02 billion to 507 million in 1998. After 1998, Li Zemin continued to serve as the chairman of the Zhejiang People's Congress Committee, continuing to formulate a development path for Zhejiang and providing suggestions for Zhejiang's development. Zhejiang's economy can take off today, inseparable from the solid foundation laid by the leaders of the previous generation, inseparable from their selected development plan, and inseparable from their hard work.
