I have known Haifeng for forty years, when Haifeng was still an art editor at Ma'anshan Daily, and because I liked painting, he often asked me to paint some illustrations and other paintings for him. In the 1980s, they also went to Jiangsu and Zhejiang to sketch. Later, due to work reasons, I saw very little, but I often heard people say that he "went to the sea" and became the boss. Later, I heard that I also represented the advertising business such as "Nanjing Morning News", "Yangzi Evening News", "Anhui Daily", etc., and the business became bigger and bigger, and it also went to the market. After all, he is still a scholar with a literary complex, and he has opened a column in the Nanjing Morning Post to serve the publicity of artists in Ma'anshan City for more than 400 periods, which can be described as a remarkable contribution.
Others told me that he did not give up studying because of business, but after graduating from the Fine Arts Department of Anhui West University (formerly the Lu'an Teaching Point of Anhui Normal University) and resigning as the art editor of Ma'anshan Daily, he successively studied in the graduate school of philosophy of Nanjing University and the EMBA advanced master's research class of Nanjing University Business School. Therefore, if you must give him a positioning, it should be stated that he is a cultural industry entrepreneur who loves the art cause and dedicates himself to the art cause.
Looking back on his life is also strange. In 1978, Haifeng took the college entrance examination in Lujiang County, Anhui Province, where haifeng was released, and was the only student in Lujiang County and Ma'anshan City who received a notice of re-examination from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts. He went to Hefei to take a three-day exam (only one of the more than 20 re-examination students in the province recruited by Yangmei and three students recruited by Zhejiang), and finally admitted to the Fine Arts Department of Anhui West College. He was the only college student admitted to the fine arts department in Lujiang County and Ma'anshan City. During the study period, he worked hard and diligently, and made rapid progress in theory and practice, and received the love and guidance of Zhu Xiuli, the head of the art department and a landscape painter, and became a high-quality student in the art department.
After graduating from university, Haifeng was assigned to Ma'anshan No. 9 Middle School as an art teacher. In 1981, when Ma'anshan Daily recruited editors, Haifeng did not take the exam and was directly transferred to the editorial department as an art editor. At that time, newspapers not only focused on readability, but also addressed readability. In the printing era of "lead and fire", due to the limitations of printing technology, there were only two colors of black and white, and the visuality was very limited. How to "grab the reader" in this particular spatial time? This places extremely high demands on art editing. The only way to solve the problem of "layout language" - title maps, illustration effects, is that the art editor draws a pattern according to the theme of the communication, places it on the topic of the communication and the article, and the article has a particularly important position in the layout, thus inducing the reader's desire to read.
During his tenure as art editor, he created a large number of works such as captions, mastheads, communication illustrations, on-site sketches and comics, so that he had his works in every newspaper page. He was always responsive, and was invited by more than 60 daily newspapers and evening newspapers in Tianjin, Datong, Nanchang, Jiujiang, Kaifeng, Hubei, Hunan, Wuhan, etc., and used his rest time to create and publish more than 2,000 comics, sketches, sketches, illustrations and other works.
Since 1995, when the sea breeze went to the sea to engage in business, he never picked up a paintbrush again. In 2005, his company acted as an agent for the advertising business of print media such as Yangzi Evening News, Nanjing Morning Post, Anhui Daily, Jinling Evening News and so on. After accumulating a certain economic foundation, his love for the art cause was difficult to give up, and he decided to use the nanjing morning newspaper at his own expense to publicize calligraphers and painters in Ma'anshan, Anhui River region and even the whole country, and to prosper the cause of art and culture. This kind of selfless dedication and behavior has won the support and praise of the Propaganda Department of the Ma'anshan Municipal CPC Committee and the Literary Association, and has been warmly welcomed by the vast number of calligraphers and painters and the masses of the people.
At first, the special edition was set as a "picture journal", and after more than 50 issues, according to the suggestions of various parties, the "picture journal" was changed to "calligraphy and painting world", published on Saturday, and another 200 issues were published. Since 2001, the "Calligraphy and Painting World" has been renamed "Yiyuan Starry Sky", and more than 400 issues have been published so far. He was resolutely determined to make new contributions to the healthy development of Ma'anshan's cultural and artistic undertakings.
Now Brother Haifeng has selected more than 100 pieces from more than 2,000 illustrations to publish the album "Selected Works of Chen Haifeng Sketch Illustration Masthead Works", and asked me to write a preface, which is naturally obligatory.
The album has more than 100 illustrations, which are the illustrations of Haifeng Brother, many of which have their own illustration creation thoughts, and these creations are created in an instant proposition, and it is conceivable that his creative talent is really admirable. These paintings are about history, such as "The Legend of Xiang Yu and Yu Ji" and "Li Baizhuan"; there are "They Write Spring and Autumn in the Special Administrative Region", which reflects the changes of the times, "Female Angels on the Road", "The Regrets of the Old Guard", "The Dedication of a Doctor", etc., which reflect the small people of the new era, and there are also steel life and scenic characters who come to the scene to report on the sketching of life. There are also ironic cartoons, all of which are refreshing and have historical value that cannot be ignored. Now that Brother Haifeng has begun to regain his brush and begin to study advanced courses in calligraphy and painting at the China Academy of Fine Arts, I think that if Brother Haifeng studies hard with such a posture, he will definitely leave more and more outstanding and extraordinary works of art in the near future.

Chen Haifeng, from 1981 to 1993, worked as a senior art editor at Ma'anshan Daily, and published thousands of inscriptions, illustrations, mastheads, sketches and cartoons for more than a decade.
From 1994 to 2021, he was the chairman and secretary of Anhui Ocean Wind Culture Media Co., Ltd., a first-class advertising enterprise in China and a listed company on the New Third Board, the president of Ma'anshan Advertising Association, the vice president of Anhui Advertising Association, and the executive director of China Advertising Association.
He is currently studying in the Advanced Research Class of China Academy of Art.
