  • Healthy diet (participants ate vegetables daily and fruits ≥ 4 days a week);
  • Appropriate waist-to-hip ratio (waist/hips: 0.90 for men <, 0.85 for women <).

Participants with 4 or 5 healthy lifestyles had a 43% lower risk of developing liver cancer compared to participants with only 0 or 1 healthy lifestyle.

Specifically, non-smoking and non-drinking were associated with a 37% reduction in liver cancer risk; non-smoking, non-drinking, active physical activity, and an appropriate waist-to-hip ratio were associated with a 56 percent reduction in liver cancer risk; and a combination of four factors: non-smoking, non-drinking, healthy diet, and appropriate waist-to-hip ratio was associated with a 52 percent reduction in liver cancer risk.
