Recently, Dr. Huo Liang, founder of Jiangsu Deep Blue Aerospace Co., Ltd., was successfully selected as a leading talent in science and technology entrepreneurship of the National High-level Talents Special Support Program (National "Ten Thousand Talents Plan"), becoming the first self-trained "Ten Thousand Talents Plan" expert in the history of Nantong High-tech Zone.

Huo Liang received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2011, during which he participated in a number of national key basic research and development programs and intergovernmental international cooperation projects, accumulating rich project experience. In the next five years, he worked at the Second Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Industry Group, during which he undertook the overall design of a number of key national defense models.

Subsequently, Dr. Huo Liang focused on the research of recyclable and reusable liquid rockets and founded Jiangsu Deep Blue Aerospace Co., Ltd. Deep Blue Aerospace is a comprehensive commercial aerospace high-tech enterprise integrating the research and development of liquid recyclable launch vehicles and the provision of commercial launch services. The company is committed to catching up with the American Space Exploration Technology Company (SpaceX) and developing China's recyclable and reusable launch vehicles, which greatly reduces the cost of rocket launch and improves the economic benefits of rockets. The company has continuously broken through the engineering and technical problems of engine and control systems, and completed China's first 10-meter vertical take-off and vertical landing free flight in July 2021, that is, the vertical recovery flight test of the liquid oxygen kerosene carrier rocket known as "Grasshopper Jump". On October 13 of the same year, the company once again completed the 100-meter vertical recovery test, which triggered a heated discussion in the space circle. The follow-up company will conduct vertical recovery tests and verification of rockets in the 1 km and 10 km stages, and after success, it will promote the vertical recovery of Chinese rockets to a new stage.
