The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said it received distress messages from Mango Island.

In addition, government sources also revealed that three people who had previously reported deaths due to the volcanic eruption were two of them, a 25-year-old female from Mangao Island and a 49-year-old male from Nomuka Island. There is also a British woman Glover who is trying to save her dog from being caught in a tsunami.
