The Minister of Health proposed to restart the quarantine-free program in February and to open additional sandbox pilots in various ministries

Thailand network reported that on January 19, Thai deputy prime minister and health minister Anutin revealed that the current epidemic situation in Thailand is controllable, and the recent severe illness and death cases have decreased significantly, so the Ministry of Health plans to make suggestions at the meeting of the epidemic control center on January 20, requiring the epidemic management to readjust the epidemic zone, if the epidemic does not worsen, it will be proposed to restart the quarantine exemption project from February, and the remaining 10 days will be used to assess the epidemic situation.

In addition, the Ministry of Health has proposed the addition of sandbox pilot areas in each ministry in Thailand, such as in Chonburi, Samut Prakan, Khon Kaen and Chiang Mai.

Anutin said that although the number of DEATHS has decreased, some elderly, undocumented or incompletely vaccinated patients have died as a result of COVID-19, so he recommends that people be vaccinated as soon as required to boost immunity, reduce the risk of infection, and reduce severe illness and mortality. He stressed that the COVID-19 vaccine prepared by the Ministry of Health is currently sufficient.
