Thailand network reported that according to Thai media news on January 20, Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the 2/2565th epidemic control center meeting. At the meeting of the Epidemic Control Center, it was agreed to restart the "test and go" quarantine-free entry model, so that overseas travelers can enter Thailand through this method.

It is reported that the Thai government suspended the acceptance of "test after testing" entry mode applications on December 22, 2021, but will resume accepting "test and leave" entry mode applications from February 1, 2022. The restart of the "test and go" entry model will be adjusted from the previous allowing passengers from 63 countries and regions to allowing global travelers to enter, and after entry, they must undergo two nucleic acid tests for the new crown virus, and passengers must submit the proof of booking for eligible hotels on the 1st and 5th days of entry, and the new crown test results can only leave the hotel/prescribed place.

On the other hand, if the epidemic situation worsens or special circumstances arise, the authorities will consider receiving overseas tourists through the sandbox scheme model.

In addition, Thailand will launch a sandbox program on 1 February 2022 to accept applications from overseas tourists to enter the following tourism demonstration areas. namely:

1. ChonBuri (Pattaya, Koh Sichang, Sektao-eup Bang Sare, Na Chom Thian);

2. Trat (Koh Chang);

3. Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga, Suratthani (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao), tourists can move around 4 provinces. Passengers entering the country under the Sandbox Scheme must stay in the Tourist Demonstration Area for 7 days.

It is understood that passengers entering through the sandbox program must submit a 7-day reservation certificate for the designated hotel, undergo 2 new coronavirus tests, report the first 7 days of entering and leaving the hotel, and the number of replacement hotels is not more than 3.
