In West Bengal, the team at ABIN Design Studio designed the Happy Work Pod in response to the shift in work culture facing the world after the 19-year coronavirus pandemic. As "working from home" became mandatory at the time, there were different interpretations of the idea of a viable workspace. Reducing the current office infrastructure to spaces dedicated only to collaborative work, many industries have adapted their employees to work off-site for long periods of time.
With many offices normalized, and even preferring the spirit of working from home, the responsibility for equipping their own homes to adapt to this employment model fell on the individual. In a developing area, not everyone can maintain a comfortable work space in their own home.
Abin Design Studio responds to the epidemic with its happy work capsule – a structure that, in combination with a "smart cabin", provides a formal working environment for those seeking such a solution. There are different types of jobs in the work cabin, from group to individual positions. To balance the work area, seating areas with indoor screenings, dry cafes and heating stations, outdoor courtyards and amphitheaters are all included.
All of these projects are seamless, giving people the freedom to choose and operate. Natural lighting, shaded courtyards that connect users with natural elements and help them lift their spirits. Thanks to the modular design, the pods have been planned at various nodes in the new town. All that is needed is a small piece of land.
