On the occasion of the New Year of 2022, an exhibition of calligraphy works entitled "Learning from Predecessors, The Heart of Yunhan Ink" opened in the Art and Book Pavilion of Qingdao Municipal Library. This exhibition is sponsored by Qingdao Municipal Library and the Cultural Committee of Qingdao Municipal Committee of Jiusan Society, and the works on display are all from Ms. Zhang Ying, a well-known calligrapher of Qingdao Academy of Painting, whose works embody Ms. Zhang Ying's decades of artistic wisdom and creative efforts.
"Freezing three feet is not a day's cold, and dripping water through a stone is not a day's work." Since childhood, Ms. Zhang Ying has successively studied under the famous calligraphers Sun Yiqing and Zhang Jiesanlao in the island city, first learned Liu Gongquan and Yan Zhenqing, and then chased after Zhiyong, participated in the inscription of epitaphs, studied the "Second King", and participated in Su Shi, Huang Tingjian, Mi Fu, and Zhao Mengfu, and copied extensively, so that she was elegant and elegant, simple and beautiful, and the pen strength of Cang Jin was praised by her peers. Later, he went to Beijing to participate in the advanced calligraphy seminar of the China Book Association, and was taught by Shen Peng, Zhang Xuguang, Gu Yalong, Mao Guodian and other famous artists, and his calligraphy was greatly improved. By learning the qingping and majestic atmosphere in the calligraphy of the ancients, and referring to the literary heart of the world, it has formed its own unique artistic style of condensation and elegance and tranquility.
Zhang Ying has organized calligraphy exchange activities in Singapore, Australia, France, Italy and other countries and regions, and held solo exhibitions, and her personal works have been given to political dignitaries in many countries as national gifts. It has trained nearly 10,000 students, won more than 7,000 awards in various calligraphy competitions in the country, provinces and municipalities, and sent more than 100 professional students to art academies, and has won the titles of "Qingdao Excellent Art Educator" and "Qingdao Excellent Teacher". He has published more than ten academic papers in professional journals, participated in the editing of more than 20 youth calligraphy and painting albums, and published a number of calligraphy works.
In Zhang Ying's view, the art of calligraphy is abstract art, which is formed after the integration and improvement of philosophy, music, fine arts and other arts through thousands of years of cultural accumulation; at the same time, it is a subtle art, which requires the author to refine and abstract the sense of life, through the changes of lines, structures, ink colors and the layout and rhythm of the chapters. "It is not enough for calligraphers to have pen and ink skills, they must combine cultural accomplishment, life perception, and the spirit of the times in order to create calligraphy works with rich connotations and the style of the times."

Zhang Ying, zizhu, was born in Qingdao.
