The competition has three sub-events of men's singles, women's singles and mixed doubles, with 32 men's singles, 32 women's singles and 16 mixed doubles athletes participating. Seven athletes from the Chinese team participated in the Tokyo Olympics participated in the event en masse.
According to the competition arrangement, the 1/8 finals of each event will be held on the 19th and 20th; the 1/4 final of each event will be held on the 21st; the men's and women's singles 1/4 finals and the mixed doubles semi-finals and finals will be staged on the 22nd; and the men's and women's singles semi-finals and finals will be held on the 23rd.

The tournament is organized by the World Table Tennis Professional Federation (WTT) and the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, and co-organized by the Macau Table Tennis Federation.
