Main competition unit
"Hidden in the Dust"
In the main competition unit of the 72nd Berlin Film Festival, Li Ruijun's new work "Hidden in the Dust" became the only seedling of Chinese films, which is the second time that Chinese films have been shortlisted for the main competition of the three major European film festivals after three years. The last time was 2019's "Lyceum Theatre" was shortlisted for the Venice Film Festival.
This is the first time that Li Ruijun has been shortlisted for the three main competitions, and he has previously been shortlisted for a kind of attention unit of the 70th Cannes Film Festival with "Passing the Future", and "Tell Them, I Went by White Crane" was shortlisted for the Horizon Unit Award of the 69th Venice Film Festival.
Starring Wu Renlin and Haiqing, the film tells the story of two lonely individuals abandoned by their respective families, who have become children of the earth like crops. In the flow of the four seasons, their love scattered in the incomprehensible eyes of others bears fruit in the land that is cleaner than the heart. Chinese mainland is set for February 25.

The Novelist's Film
The shortlisted Novelist's Film is the 27th feature film directed by Hong Changxiu. The film stars Lee Hye Young, Kim Min Hee, Seo Yong Woo, Kwon Hae-sho, Cho Yoon Hee, Ha Sung-kook, Park Mi-sook, and Ki Joo-sung, which is also the eighth collaboration between Hong Chang-so and Kim Min-hee. This is the third consecutive year that Hong Changxiu has been shortlisted for the main competition in Berlin. The first two times were "Introduction" and "The Woman Who Ran Away".
Isaki Lacuesta's "One Year, One Night" was shortlisted at the same time. Starring Naever Perez Biscayate, Nomi Melante, Kim Gutierrez and others, the film is set in the 2015 Bataclan attack in Paris and tells the story of two survivors trying to heal their psychological wounds.
The opening film of this year is the new work "Peter von Kant" directed by François Oujong. Starring Isabelle Adjani and Denis Menoche, the film is euromonic's 21st feature film, based on Reiner Werner Fassbinder's Tears of Bitterness.

This year's Berlin Film Festival Adventure Section included 15 films, including Bertrand Bonilro's "Coma", Arno de Palière's "American Diary", Miyake's "Keiko, Gaze", and Asa Butterfield & Gwendoran Christie's "Change foodie".
Among them, the Japanese film "Keiko, Gaze" was shortlisted. Directed by Miyake and starring Kishii Yukino, Tomokazu Miura, and Makoto Miura, the film is based on the autobiography of former professional boxer Keiko Ogasawara, who was deaf.

Alain Giroldi's new book, Follow Me, starring Jean-Charlie Krischet and Noemi Lovells, tells the story of a series of incredible events that revolve around a likable man in his 30s, an elderly married female sex worker and a young homeless person of Arab descent after the terrorist attacks in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

Films such as "Roma Mama" directed by Pierre Paul Pasolini, "Dried Flowers" directed by Masahiro Shinoda, "Our Music" directed by Jean-Luc Godard, and "Suzhou Creek" directed by Lou Ye will be screened in 4K/2K digital restoration versions.

Chinese director Zheng Luxinyuan's documentary Jet Lag focuses on a re-exploration of a home video while the director is isolated in Europe.

Tetsuro Araki ("Attack on Titan") directed the new work "Bubbles", Jamie Sisley's "Stay Awake" (adapted from the short film of the same name), and Julia Trofimova's "Sasha Land" and other 14 films were selected.
