IT House January 19 news, according to MediaTek's official website, MediaTek today announced the world's first live demonstration of Wi-Fi 7 technology, demonstrating the capabilities of its upcoming Wi-Fi 7 Filogic connectivity portfolio.
MediaTek said it is currently presenting two Wi-Fi 7 technology demos to key customers and industry partners to highlight the technology's ultra-fast and low-latency transmission.
Alan Hsu, vice president and general manager of MediaTek's smart connectivity business, said: "The launch of Wi-Fi 7 will mark the first time Wi-Fi has truly become a wired/Ethernet alternative. MediaTek's Wi-Fi 7 technology will be the backbone of home, office and industrial networks, and provide seamless connectivity for applications ranging from multiplayer AR/VR applications to cloud gaming and 4K calling to 8K streaming. ”
MediaTek's demo demonstrated how its Wi-Fi 7 Filogic technology achieves the maximum speed defined by IEEE 802.11be and demonstrated its Multilink Operations (MLO) technology.
IT House understands that Wi-Fi 7 is unique in that it provides new capabilities for the 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz spectrum used by Wi-Fi. Even with the same number of antennas, Wi-Fi 7 will be 2.4 times faster than Wi-Fi 6 because Wi-Fi 7 can take advantage of the 320Mhz channel and support 4K QAM technology.
Wi-Fi 7-enabled products are expected to begin on the market in 2023.
