Recently, the Shandong Provincial People's Government announced the list of winners of the 15th Provincial Social Science Discipline Rookie Award, and 10 young scholars such as Professor Liu Bensen of Shandong Normal University won the Discipline Rookie Award.

The Shandong Provincial Social Science Rookie Award is a social science talent award issued by the provincial government. The awards adhere to the guidance of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thinking of "three represents", the scientific concept of development, and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the symposium on philosophy and social science work, conscientiously implement the spirit of the relevant documents of the Party Central Committee on accelerating the construction of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics and the relevant work requirements of the provincial party committee, commend and reward outstanding young scholars in the field of social sciences, and further promote the prosperity and development of social sciences. We should better serve the construction of a strong socialist modern province in the new era. It aims to reward social science workers who adhere to the correct political direction, academic orientation and value orientation, have a solid theoretical foundation, profound academic attainments, have unique academic value or significant social benefits in their research results, abide by discipline and law, and have high academic ethics and professional ethics. The Shandong Provincial Social Sciences Rookie Award is selected every two years, and no more than 10 people (may be vacant) per session.

The winners of the Discipline Rookie Award are under the age of 39 (inclusive), must have Marxist theoretical literacy, outstanding work achievements, have great potential for development, have officially published, published and completed more than 5 (inclusive) important scientific research achievements, and have won at least 1 second prize (first author) of provincial and ministerial social science achievements (first author) or at least 2 third prizes of provincial and ministerial social science achievements (first author).
