Unemployment, hatred, economic crisis – the rise of Hitler's Third Reich

The rise of Hitler's Nazi Germany was not accidental, behind which was a complex social and economic background, and the outbreak of the entire Second World War was the result of a long accumulation of contradictions, not Hitler alone.

In the general context, after the end of the First World War, the Treaty of Versailles, for the purpose of punishing Germany, on the one hand, was a huge war reparation, about 132 billion marks; on the other hand, it was a military restriction, including the establishment of the Rhine Demilitarized Zone, no heavy machine guns, no air force, no compulsory military system. This humiliated and economically oppressed Militaristic Germany.

Germany's Prussian tradition has a long history, and after World War I, the Second Reich was ostensibly overthrown, but in fact the soldiers were not convinced. Hitler participated in the First World War, and fought bravely, receiving the highest honor, two Iron Cross medals, one first class, one second class, which Hitler often wore. It can be said that Hitler's fanaticism and belligerence were consistent.

In terms of ideological origins, the German militarist tradition, including later Nazism, is inextricably linked to the philosophy of the German continental system. For example, Hegel, who had a rigorous philosophical argument and system, but regarded Prussia at that time as the embodiment of the "absolute spirit", which made a philosophical argument for the mighty; Nietzsche's "superman" philosophy was objectively used by Hitler to advocate so-called racism.

Specific to the rise of Hitler. The biggest stimulus was the outbreak of the global economic crisis of 1929-1933. Germany was hit particularly hard, with about 43.8 percent of workers unemployed, 22.6 percent unemployed, and social discontent skyrocketing.

Hitler, already known for the "Beer Hall Riots," seized the opportunity, and his Nazi Party, also known as the National Socialist Workers' Party, leapt to become the second largest party in the country in 1930. Hitler declared that every household should have bread and milk, promising the German people. Through the "Congressional Arson Case", force established its supremacy.

Prussian traditions, the humiliation of World War I, the origins of ideas, the wave of unemployment caused by the outbreak of economic crisis were all reasons why Hitler was able to enter the political arena with extraordinary oratory. But this alone was not enough, hitler's commitments and policies determined that this would not become a normal state.

Internally, Hitler hyped up racism, attributed unemployment and poverty to the Jews of ordinary Germans, plundered property, and massacred Jews, creating a fanatical unity.

Externally, it advocates ultra-nationalism, competes for the living space of the Aryans, expands its armaments, encroaches on the territory of other countries, and satisfies its material needs and spiritual fanaticism at home through plunder. In fact, until the end of World War II, the living conditions of ordinary German people were still very good under plunder.

Unemployment, hatred, economic crisis – the rise of Hitler's Third Reich

Unemployment, hatred, and economic crisis can make it easy for people to lose their minds and go to extremes. Hitler's rise was accidental and a reasoned outbreak in the context of history. The United States, which was hardest hit by the economic crisis, did not move toward Nazism and is closely related to the American tradition of individualism.

Hopefully, the tragedy of World War II will never be repeated, and figures like Hitler will not appear.
