Egg carving is one of the traditional folk arts in mainland China, through a variety of techniques such as yin carving, yang carving, relief carving, etc., you can show a beautiful artistic image on the eggshell.
In the Youth Science and Technology Museum in Dongcheng District, Beijing, there is such an egg carving teacher, who not only integrates the elements of the Winter Olympics into the egg carving works, but also cares about inheritance, so that more teenagers can understand and fall in love with this traditional culture.

Walking into Tu Yuanhua's studio, you will be greeted by a strong craftsman atmosphere: the workbench is full of carving tools, and the table is lined with egg carvings of different shapes. They share a common theme – the Beijing Winter Olympics.
Among them, the largest work, "Welcoming the Winter Olympics", uses ostrich eggs as the carrier, uses relief and hollowing techniques, and after more than 3 months of design, carving and polishing, finally shows a different ice and snow world on the eggshell.
Nowadays, Tu Yuanhua not only enters the school, but also opens interest courses during the after-school service period, and every weekend, the egg carving class opened by the Science and Technology Museum is always full.
Although the egg carving is small, it can well exercise the child's hands-on ability and patience. Such egg carving classes have also become a good helper to help "double subtraction".
