01, Oolong robbery tomb
On October 18, 1942, when a middle school student in Chengdu was passing by the Area of Fuqintai, he suddenly found a "suspicious person".
In the 1940s, when the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was at its most arduous, the Japanese bombed Chengdu one after another from 1938 onwards in order to attack the rear areas of the Nationalist government, with as many as 16 times!

Therefore, the people of Chengdu are all soldiers, and they have been holding a string in their heads and refusing to relax...
This middle school student is not big, but his brain is flexible.
When he suddenly saw a foreigner with blond hair and blue eyes in Chengdu,
Moreover, when this person also "sneakily" picked up a "golden doll" from a hole in the ground, the alarm bell immediately rang!
Not good! Is someone stealing artifacts?
Because not far from that place, there stands a large earthen platform that is 15 meters high, and the people here have called it "Fuqin Platform" for generations!
Legend has it that it was the place where Sima Xiangru and Zhuo Wenjun played the piano.
The middle school students quietly reported the matter to the school, and the school also acted quickly and immediately reported it!
In broad daylight, someone is actually doing "theft"! The comrades of the township office were indignant and led a group of people to the scene.
Three times five times and two times, several people who were at the scene of the imperial tomb were tied up and sent to the detention center!
However, it didn't take long for this incident to be identified as the "Oolong Incident", and the few people who were tied up by the masses were not tomb robbers!
They are archaeologists who are carrying out excavations at the archaeological site.
Among them, there was indeed a foreigner, this person named Su Liwen, who was the assistant of the director of the Chengdu Museum at that time and the draftsman of the archaeological excavation site!
02. The imperial tomb in the air raid shelter
The story first goes back to two years ago, in the autumn of 1940, in order to avoid The Japanese bombing, the relevant departments in Chengdu decided to dig an air raid shelter on the north side of Qintai Road in the old west gate.
Just a few days after the construction began, the news came - a strange "wall" had been dug in the bomb shelter!
The matter was quickly reported to Feng Jicai, director of the Sichuan Provincial Museum, who went to the scene to investigate and finally determined that this was an ancient tomb!
There are ancient tombs on Qintai Road?
Originally, when they heard that the wall had been dug in the air raid shelter, the relevant departments once thought that it might have dug up the foundation of Sima Xiangru and Zhuo Wenjun's "Fuqin Platform".
I never thought that in front of everyone's eyes, there was such a big ancient tomb!
Due to the continuous bombardment at that time, this ancient tomb exposed to the surface was likely to be a target for Japanese bombing.
Therefore, after many applications, discussions and preliminary preparations, archaeological excavations of the tomb began in 1942.
Next, an even bigger surprise ensued, and a jade mourning book was found in the ancient tomb, which clearly stated the information of the owner of the tomb!
This is actually an emperor's mausoleum - Yongling! It's been more than a thousand years!
The owner of the tomb is Wang Jian, the former Emperor of Shu who established the former Shu state in Chengdu in 907 AD!
For a time, the news of the discovery of the tomb of the Former Shu Emperor in Chengdu shook the archaeological community at that time!
At that time, Chengdu's "New News" and "West China Evening News" carried out large-scale detailed reports on the excavation of the mausoleum, which attracted the attention of Guo Moruo, then director of the Political Department of the Military Commission of the National Government.
One of Guo Moruo's letters even wrote: "This matter, if it is in peacetime, if it is in Europe and the United States, must have caused a sensation in the world..."
03, rabbit sitting on the dragon bed
The excavation of Yongling was the first scientific archaeological excavation of the tombs of Chinese emperors in the Chinese archaeological community, decades earlier than the excavation of the Dingling Tomb of the Wanli Emperor of the Ming Dynasty.
In this excavation, there are actually a number of interesting phenomena.
The first was the discovery of Wang Jian's seal in the underground palace. This seal is very special, carefully observe that the new head is actually a "rabbit head dragon body" shape!
Throughout the ages, the emperor's jade seal is mostly in the shape of a dragon, and the true dragon Tianzi has almost become synonymous with the ruler.
Then, why did this former Shu emperor use the cute rabbit as a seal?
This is unique among all the emperors in China for thousands of years!
Wang Jian, when he was young, was just a street scoundrel. It is engaged in cattle slaughter, donkey theft, and salt trafficking.
In the last year of the Tang Dynasty, the world was in chaos, and Wang Jian joined the Zhongwu Army and became one of the generals of the Eight Capitals of Zhongwu. Because of his meritorious efforts in rescuing Emperor Tang, he became a general of the Divine Strategy Army.
In the seventh year of Tianfu (907), the Tang Dynasty fell, and Wang Jian established himself as emperor because he disobeyed Hou Liang, with the state name of Dashu and the historical name "Former Shu".
Because Wang Jian belongs to the rabbit and is more superstitious, he is very concerned about things related to rabbits!
It is said that on the eve of his imminent reign as emperor, he also sent people to spread rumors in Shudi that "rabbits sit on a golden bed" saying.
Ascend to the throne for yourself and create favorable conditions for the help of certain gods.
In 907, Wang Jian established Former Shu and ascended the throne as emperor! And this year also happens to be the "Year of the Rabbit"!
In this way, it is not surprising that Wang Jian, the "rabbit master" who belongs to the rabbit, created a rabbit head seal for himself...
04. First-class national treasure: jade belt
Wang Jian's Yongling Has left many surprises for future generations!
In today's Sichuan Provincial Museum, there is a precious "jade belt" found in the underground palace.
This large jade belt consists of 7 pieces of jade, each 8.2 cm long and 7.4 cm wide, with a beautiful tuanlong play bead pattern embossed on it.
According to expert research, this jade belt should be what Wang Jian wore before his death.
In this way, this thing has become the only belt ever used by the emperor in the mainland excavations!
As a result, the jade belt, which was already extremely precious, became a veritable national treasure cultural relic because of its "orphan" label!
Finally, there's a little Easter egg!
Wang Jian's Yongling, in addition to the cute "Rabbit Master Jade Seal" and the radiant "Jade Belt",
He also left a surprise for people at the last minute – "selfie"!
Perhaps in order to let future generations remember his wise and divine appearance, Wang Jian completed a "realistic statue" in his underground palace.
This statue is completely in accordance with his own appearance, one-to-one restoration!
Judging from the face of the statue, Wang Jiannong has big eyebrows, a full forehead, thin lips and big ears, which looks very solemn and quite an imperial image!
Experts explain that this "self-portrait" of Wang Jian in the Yongling Underground Palace is the only known emperor "true stone statue"!
When the archaeologists first entered the underground palace, they saw that the stone statue was still smeared with gold powder!
And it was precisely because the middle school student saw the golden doll that he mistakenly thought that there were foreigners stealing!
As a result, the crying and laughing "Oolong Tomb Robbery" incident occurred...
