AMD Ryzen™ 7 5800X3D processors or production capacity tight

On January 16, at the CES exhibition, AMD launched the Ryzen™ 7 5800X3D, using 3D V-Cache caching technology, adding an additional 64MB of cache, and officially saying that the performance increase can reach 40%. The new Ryzen 7 5800X3D stacks 64MB V-Cache on top of the original 32MB L3 cache, plus 4MB L2 cache for a total of up to 100MB, while reducing the frequency from 3.8-4.7GHz to 3.4-4.5GHz to maintain the 105W thermal design power consumption.

According to AMD, this processor can bring an average of 15% game performance improvement, up to 40%, once again surpassing the i9-12900K and regaining the title of "world's fastest gaming processor".

AMD Ryzen™ 7 5800X3D processors or production capacity tight

Edited by the Institute of Core Research

AMD has previously said that the Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor will be available this spring, but it did not give a specific time and did not specify the price. For this special processor, the biggest trouble is still in production, it still uses TSMC's 3D IC packaging technology, but the technology is not mass production, production capacity is very tight, 3D IC factory will be put into production later this year.

Judging from the news of the supply chain, the number of Ryzen 7 5800X3D processors will not be much, and before the Zen4 processor is listed this year, the production capacity is not enough to mass-produce, and it is doomed that this processor may only be limited edition.
