He was only 22 years old at the time of his death, and it was not long ago that he said goodbye to his fiancée, Zhu Jinxiang, and promised to marry her back to his hometown when the war was over, but all this could not be realized.
Love sacrifice
After the outbreak of the Korean War in 1951, Lu Mingkun responded to the call of the state to join the Air Force Service of the Chinese Volunteer Army and went to Korea to support the battle. This battle came a little suddenly, which caught Lu Mingkun a little off guard, but he still signed up for the front line as always.
At this time, as his fiancée, Zhu Jinxiang was very worried. Lu Mingkun squeezed her hand and comforted: "The country needs me, I must go." Rest assured, when the war is over, I will take you back to my hometown in Shandong to see my mother."
This was the first intimate gesture they had made after half a year of dating, and after many years Zhu Jinxiang still vaguely remembered the temperature in Lu Mingkun's palm.
After Lu Mingkun arrived in North Korea, he thought of Zhu Jinxiang every day. He often wrote to her during the truce, and the pages of the letter became the sustenance of his thoughts. But in his letters he never mentioned the words "love" and "miss."

Zhu Jinxiang entered the Cultural and Labor Corps of the East China Air Force in 1949 and began her military career. It is particularly popular in the army because of the scarcity of female soldiers. At that time, many leaders were nervous to introduce Zhu Jinxiang to the object, and the other party was either the head or the instructor, but she couldn't look at any of them.

After understanding her thoughts, the comrades-in-arms remembered Lu Mingkun of the Sixth Regiment of the Second Division of the Air Force. So the two had their first meeting under the matchmaking of their comrades-in-arms.

In 2006, in the blink of an eye, Zhu Jinxiang had entered the age of ancient rarity, and the promise made by the original lover had always been indelible in her heart. So she decided to fulfill that promise herself.
She looked for the home address written by Lu Mingkun, but found that the building had long been empty. Later, after some searching, she learned that Lu Mingkun's mother had already moved to Heilongjiang to live with his sister, so she immediately rushed over.
