Jilin Heroes Praise Hundreds of Heroic Deeds Exhibited

Jilin Hero Praise - Sui Jinshan

The Battle of Songkuofeng was one of the most magnificent battles in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, in which countless revolutionary martyrs fought in blood and sacrificed their lives for the country. Today's "Jilin Heroes Praise" column, we know a volunteer soldier together, Sui Jinshan.

Sui Jinshan was born in 1924 in Jiaohe City, Jilin Province, and participated in the Siping Campaign and the Liaoshen Campaign. When the Korean War broke out in 1950, Sui Jinshan, then a platoon commander, was ordered to lead his comrades to the Border between China and North Korea, and was one of the first volunteer soldiers to cross the Yalu River. On November 25, 1950, the second campaign, jointly launched by the Chinese Volunteer Army and the Korean People's Army, began. Sui Jinshan's three companies were ordered to cut off the retreat of the enemy troops in the military corner under the Song Bone Peak, creating a fighter for the large army to encircle and completely annihilate the enemy army.

Sui Jinshan died on the mountain ridge of Songkuo Peak in North Korea at the age of 27. On the Korean battlefield, Sui Jinshan was brave and fearless, bravely killed the enemy, and made 7 great achievements and one special merit before and after. The story of his battle with his comrades was written by the writer Wei Wei into the newsletter "Who is the Cutest Man", and later selected as a middle school textbook. Sui Jinshan's three companies were awarded the pennant of "both offensive and defensive" by the headquarters of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army, and the collective special merit was recorded.

Because Sui Jinshan had been fighting outside for many years, his son Sui Fengxi had never seen his father. The first time I learned about my father's deeds was through the text "Who is the Cutest Man".

The great spirit casts a monument, and the heroic deeds inspire future generations. In order to commemorate and inherit the spirit of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the Jiaohe Municipal CPPCC compiled the story of Sui Jinshan into "Coming from the Smoke of War--The Story of Jiaohe Veterans" and preserved this spiritual wealth in a literary way. Carry forward the glorious tradition, continue the red blood, and the great spirit of resisting US aggression and aiding Korea will be passed on forever.
