On January 14, Xiaomi Group released an email today, appointing Yu Liguo as vice president of Xiaomi Automobile and political commissar of Xiaomi Automobile Beijing headquarters, responsible for coordinating the comprehensive management of Xiaomi Automobile, the promotion of special business, and the organization and talent construction of Xiaomi Automobile Beijing headquarters.

According to reports, Yu Liguo joined Xiaomi in the second half of 2021 and has rich experience and contacts in the automotive industry, especially for the establishment and overall management of new energy vehicle brands.

Yu Liguo is a post-80s doctor of engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology, and has served as the director of the strategic planning department of BAIC Group, a member of the party committee of BAIC BJEV, the executive deputy general manager of BAIC BJEV, and the chairman of Blue Valley Smart Energy Company and the president of ARCFOX Business Unit.

According to the Automotive Industry and Economic Network, Yu Liguo was in charge of BAIC BJEV's strategic planning, fixed investment, and joint venture cooperation, and the details involved medium- and long-term product planning, user experience design, and digital applications. It was also under his leadership that BAIC Group established the high-end brand of Jihu Automobile.

The report quoted informed sources as saying that Xiaomi Auto attaches great importance to Liguo's performance in the process of creating the Jihu brand, especially his experience and ability in the cooperation process of BAIC and Huawei and Magna.

In fact, judging from the comprehensive age and experience of The Founding of the People's Republic of China, he is also a "young executive" favored by Lei Jun.

In addition, judging from Yu Liguo's title of "Vice President of Xiaomi Automobile", he should be the second executive introduced by the internal public since Lei Jun disclosed the core members of the automotive team in September last year, and the other is Li Tianyuan, the exterior designer of the BMW i brand who joined in the same year.
