Franz von Holzhausen is Tesla's American car designer. He has been responsible for Tesla's design work since 2008. He designed the Tesla Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Cyberruck and Semi, which have been unveiled but have not yet been released.

Front face

Although the Roadster is a supercar design body, its front face and fuel supercar are not the same, using a closed front face design. However, the fact that it does not have a grille in front of its face is actually not so obvious, because the black area below the bumper line will give the illusion that it is a grille. But Tesla's iconic grilleless front face always makes me feel a lot like a car with a mask on it.

The contoured, sunken sides resemble the Camaro, with a low-lying posture and stronger grip, but it also makes it look a bit like the Opel GT from decades ago.

It is a two-door, two-seater convertible model with a hatchback shape that shows a strong sense of sport.

Many media outlets define it as a Roadster by name. But back to the source, the Roadster was originally a race in which riders raced on unpaved roads in two- or four-wheeled carriages, and gradually evolved into a model that represented a two-door, two-seat convertible. Its typical definition is a two-seat, variable-roofed (soft-topped or hard-roofed), two-door sports car without side windows. Mazda's MX-5, for example, is a typical Roadster.

But Tesla's Roadster is equipped with a Targa roof, and the rear window of the Targa model is usually fixed, so it does not fit the traditional definition of The Roadster.

Vents on the front fenders mimic those on many internal combustion engine cars and are used to dissipate heat from the engine. Although I don't know what is the point of Tesla designing such a pretend vent, I don't know what Tesla needs to use the vent to discharge.

The rear of the car

The rear of the car is equipped with a retractable spoiler to control air flow, but until we see other details, we have no way of knowing whether the spoiler is as decorative as the vents on the front fender.

performance

It is predicted that the performance of this targa coupe will reach the level of a supercar, with a top speed of 250 mph (about 402 km/h) and 0-60 mph (about 0-96 km/h) in less than 2 seconds.

Statistically, it can compete with some of the most expensive Ferrari sports cars (even the SF90 Stradale can only reach a top speed of 175 mph, about 281 km/h...). )。

But there are still some supercar enthusiasts who prefer to pay for the Italian aura, so it is wise to set up a small design studio in Tesla and Italy to redesign the styling and make these models have Italian elements, naming these models after some luxury resorts in Italy, such as Carrozzeria Lago d'Como.

Write at the end:

The exterior design of this car is very good and very technological. No matter how long it takes for the car to be officially launched, the design will not become obsolete. I even wanted to see the exterior styling of the chassis lower and the tail spoiler wider.
