The second generation of Tesla Roadster electric sports cars, released in 2017, finally reopened the pre-order registration after many delays. Roadster currently has a $50,000 deposit in the U.S., and consumers must pay $5,000 upfront while pre-order registration and transfer the balance of $45,000 to Tesla within 10 days. Roadster was initially priced at $200,000, but due to inflation and the recent chip shortage, the price may be even higher after mass production.
According to the previous Tesla public information, in addition to the $200,000 standard edition model, Roadster also has a founders Series Signature first wave limited edition model priced at $250,000; however, since the current booking page cannot select the model, it can be speculated that the limited edition model is likely to have been sold out.
In addition, when Tesla celebrated the opening of the Giga Factory in Texas in April 2022, it had confirmed that the Roadster would be mass-produced in 2023, and according to the data at the time, the Roadster's production schedule should be ranked after the Cybertruck electric pickup truck that had also been delayed many times.
At present, the Roadster power data released by Tesla is the same as when it was published in 2017, so it can be estimated that the power specifications of the production version should not change again. With a four-wheel drive of up to 10,000 N.m torque output, its electric system accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in just 2.1 seconds, exceeding 400 km/h, and with a range of 1,000 km/ h, it will be the most powerful electric supercar ever built by the Tesla brand.
