Flipping through the calendar notes on my phone, I found that my 2021 was particularly fulfilling.
Lots of memorable days. For example, on June 21, the press conference of precious party history materials of "Workers' Road" was held at a major memorial hall of the Communist Party of China. This magazine was the first magazine I discovered and participated in the whole process of collection and collation. It was born in the 1920s and was hosted by Chinese Communists in the Soviet Union. This work is of great value to the study of our Party's work and study in the Far East of the Soviet Union, and has been affirmed by party history experts.
On July 1, I participated in a live broadcast at a major memorial hall of the Communist Party of China to introduce the birth of the party to a wide audience. The picture of that magnificent period unfolded slowly before my eyes... At that moment, I missed my stepfather Yu Xiusong the most, who was one of the first five members of the founding group of the Communist Party of China and the first secretary of the Shanghai Socialist Youth League. At that time, the stepfather and like-minded comrades-in-arms were determined to save the motherland from danger, and pursued the light with blood and life. This sentiment has always inspired me deeply.
In 2021, I also took my two grandchildren to the recording of the documentary "Mountains and Rivers Years". This is the first time the little ones have participated in such an activity. In the past, I always told them the story of my grandfather, and after recording the show, they told me: "Grandpa, I understand what you mean by 'inheriting the red family style'." We will study hard and contribute to the motherland. Later, they also went to the Revolution Memorial Hall as volunteer docents, took the initiative to watch many history books and documentaries, and pestered me every day to ask questions. I thought how relieved my stepfather would be if he saw all this. When we study and publicize history, don't we just let the children of today understand the sacrifices and struggles of their predecessors and pass on the red torch from generation to generation?
The happiest thing to say is that on the occasion of the party's centennial birthday, we saw a large number of post-90s and post-00s consciously moving closer to the party, injecting new vitality into our party. I think this step they took will be the most unforgettable memory of their lives.
In 2022, I still have a lot to do: Yu Xiusong's diary and biography are coming soon, and related feature films are also in preparation. Through one true story after another, we will tell the family and country feelings and national responsibilities of our stepfather and more revolutionary volunteers. Be busy and not afraid, as long as you can contribute to the party's cause and successors.
Party and government cadres do not live up to their mission --

Looking at these solemn and cordial words in the "Resolution," I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed, and my thoughts returned to the days and nights when the cadres and masses of the whole region struggled to get rid of poverty and achieve a well-off society in an all-round way, and to the unforgettable process of solving one difficult thing after another in a down-to-earth manner.
In February last year, Xinxing Village in Dashun Township, our district won the honorary title of "National Advanced Collective for Poverty Alleviation". Who would have thought that seven years ago, the per capita disposable income of the villagers in this village was still very small, and the village collective economy had no operating income, and even owed a bunch of debts. How to change? It is said that "the train runs fast, all rely on the headband", Dashun Township after in-depth research, found the key to the integration of urban and rural development party branch, non-public enterprise party branch and village party branch joint construction and mutual promotion of this link. After some efforts, Xinxing Village has achieved the "double promotion" of collective income increase and farmers' prosperity, the "double promotion" of infrastructure construction and rural style, and a poor mountain village has become a well-known poverty alleviation village and a star village for rural revitalization.
Comprehensive well-off is not the end. At the starting point of a new life and a new struggle, how can the masses feel that common prosperity can be seen and touched? Only by finding small incisions can we truly solve the people's urgent worries and hopes.

Humanistic scholars love traditional culture——
The study is not entirely Dunhuang

In 2021, my doctoral supervisor, Professor Zhu Lei, an expert on Dunhuang Turpan literature and Tang history, died of illness in Wuhan. Looking back on the bits and pieces of mr. Zhu's teachings, whether it is academic training or treating people, Mr. Zhu has given me a lot of guidance and made me deeply taught. In his later years, Mr. Zhu was invited by the Xinjiang Museum to sort out the newly discovered Turpan documents, and basically went to Urumqi every year for more than a decade to do research for a period of time, even after falling ill, he insisted on completing the relevant work. In 2019, the basic draft of the document was sorted out, but Teacher Zhu was hospitalized due to a stroke.
In April last year, my wife and I went to Wuhan to visit Mr. Zhu. Although he was in the hospital, the most important thing he could not put down was the publication of the Supplement to the Excavated Documents of Turpan. In July, the leader of bashu book club went to the hospital and signed a publishing contract with Teacher Zhu, and finally helped Mr. Zhu complete this wish. In mid-July, in order to participate in the "Academic Symposium to Commemorate the 110th Anniversary of the Birth of Mr. Tang Changru", at seven o'clock in the morning, the family took Teacher Zhu from the hospital in Hankou to Wuhan University to attend the meeting, and Teacher Zhu insisted on participating in the whole activity until 8:30 p.m. It was raining that day, and when I said goodbye to Teacher Zhu, I admired it in my heart: what Mr. Zhu embodied was his love for China's excellent traditional culture and his deep sense of responsibility for academic research. Unexpectedly, it was the last side of me and my mentor, and the endless regrets in it could not be said.
Our party has always attached great importance to excellent traditional culture, and General Secretary Xi Jinping has placed high hopes on the study of Dunhuang cultural protection. Inheriting and promoting Dunhuang culture requires the continuous efforts of our generations of scholars, not only to dig deep into the philosophical ideas, humanistic spirit, value concepts and moral norms behind Dunhuang's cultural and historical relics, to promote the creative transformation and innovative development of China's excellent traditional culture, but also to reveal the Chinese national cultural spirit, cultural mind and cultural self-confidence contained in it, so as to provide spiritual support for upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. And this is precisely the concentrated embodiment of our emotional pursuit as communists in the new era.
In 2022, I will continue to work hard to inherit, research and carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture as my responsibility, and make new contributions to the study of Dunhuang Studies.
Young teachers lead the way for young students——
Inherit the spirit of westward migration and take a new journey

The spirit of westward migration is the core of the campus culture construction of Xi'an Jiaotong University and has been incorporated into the spiritual genealogy of Chinese communists. As the person in charge of the "Light of Westward Migration" counselor studio, in the study and education of party history, I led the backbone of the students to carry out more than 100 lectures on the spirit of westward migration inside and outside the school, online and offline, and carried out a hundred original online party history lectures on "Party History Figures in the History of The University of Communications", giving full play to the two-way educational value of the young peers' propaganda, making the propaganda closer, infecting and impressing the audience, and also becoming an important way for the propagandists to educate themselves and grow themselves.
Li Ming, a member of the propaganda team, did not adapt at the beginning of his enrollment, because Xi'an Jiaotong University was not his first choice, and the major he studied was not what he liked. After overhearing a preaching of the spirit of moving west, he joined the preaching group with the mentality of trying it out. A year later, he wrote: "It was the preaching that gave me a deeper understanding of the spirit of moving west, and the more I understood, the more I was moved." I was deeply shocked by the singable and weeping process, and I was impressed by the great character of such a lovely and selfless westward migration person, and the ideals and beliefs in my heart were even firmer. I am no longer worried and confused about the future, but will grasp the present and move forward steadily, which is the strength and enlightenment brought to me by the preaching of the spirit of moving west. ”
At this moment, the new crown pneumonia epidemic is still raging in the ancient city of Xi'an. In the face of the test of fighting the epidemic, many young people have shouldered heavy responsibilities with their young arms, let people see the tenacious and thriving China, see the magnificent youth power, and also let me have a deeper understanding of this passage in the "Resolution": "The development of the cause of the party and the people needs to continue to struggle from generation to generation, and we must grasp the fundamental plan of succession. ”
2022 has begun, I am very excited, there are countless ordinary heroes and us to fight side by side, I am also full of confidence, in the new journey to achieve the second centenary goal, will leave more and more footprints of aspiring young people.
