Throughout the rule of the Qing Dynasty, there were very few Han Generals in the Manchu Qing Dynasty. In fact, there are, but most of those are Han military flags, and these generals cannot really be called Han generals.
During the Kangxi period, Kangxi should have known the power of firearms, and tens of thousands of people had a hard time beating old Maozi. From this, it can be seen why the Manchu Qing were unwilling to use firearms to the death, because the Han people had firearms, and the Manchus could not suppress them. The Manchu Qing guarded against the Han at all times.
The Qianlong Emperor
However, in the late Qing Dynasty, the Han people were no longer asked to change their possession of firearms, and it was possible that some Han landlords who were insightful people would directly oppose. Later, there was a new army, but it was only a few years after the formation and training of the new army, and the Manchu Qing was overthrown. It can be seen that the Manchu Qing policy was very successful at the beginning, and it was possible to prevent the Han from rebelling by suppressing the Han people from taking charge of the army or having new weapons.
Monk Greenqin
Throughout the Manchu Qing Dynasty, even if there was a rebellion, it was able to put down the rebellion. But with guns, it was different, and it was not known that the monk Greenqin led 30,000 Manchu and Mongolian cavalry to rampage through the British and French coalition forces.
This policy was very successful, which is why Qianlong preferred to transfer soluns from Heilongjiang to suppress the rebellion than use Han Chinese, because he was rewarded for military merit.
Even the main force in suppressing the rebellion against the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom was manchu and Mongolian generals, and it was only after the late defeat that they had to start appointing Han generals. Of course, it is also possible to be moved by the loyalty of the Han generals.
Zeng Guofan
In the late Manchu Qing Dynasty, because the Xiang army guarded by Zeng Guofan was neutral in the suppression of the Taiping Rebellion, the Han generals were given a general opportunity to control the army. So that the indirect later period formed the Beiyang group, which led to the main reason for the demise of the Manchu Qing.
