In 1933, Chiang Kai-shek ignored the Japanese army's invasion of Northern China and the occupation of China's territory, still adhered to the reactionary policy of "foreign countries must first be inside the country", mobilized nearly a million troops, and launched the fifth "encirclement and suppression" in the Central Soviet Region, where our party is located.
Faced with the attack of the Kuomintang troops. Our army also had to fight back and carry out the fifth "anti-encirclement and suppression" campaign. But at that time, the command of the Red Army was still in the hands of Bogu, Li De and others, who refused to listen to chairman Mao's correct proposals for guerrilla warfare and mobile defensive warfare.
They mistakenly practise adventurous aggression and confront the enemy face to face. As a result, the Red Army repeatedly ran into a wall in the following series of battles, and the Central Soviet Area was shrinking in this situation.

Faced with this favorable situation, Chiang Kai-shek launched a full-scale offensive against the Central Soviet Zone in July 1934. In a vain attempt to take the Central Soviet Zone in one fell swoop.

In the face of the fierce attack of the enemy, the soldiers of our Red Army were once in a dilemma, and there was an extreme shortage of manpower, material resources, food supplies, and ammunition supplies.
But fortunately, the Party Central Committee made a major decision after discussion at this time: the main force of the Red Army in the Central Soviet Region temporarily withdrew and carried out the Long March!
Chen Yi had been leading the revolutionary struggle in the Central Soviet Region for several years, and he was very familiar with the local situation and had considerable prestige in the eyes of the soldiers and the people. Once, Comrade Zeng Biao, the leader of the guerrilla group, was surrounded and blocked by the Kuomintang troops during the battle. When he fled to the opposite side of Sandizi's house, the enemy had formed a circle to encircle him. In a hurry, The Three Dizi covered Comrade Zeng Biao and hid in the stone pass of the small river ditch opposite the house. The enemy searched for a long time but could not find the whereabouts of Comrade Zeng Biao.
However, the enemy general did not believe that Zeng Biao had escaped, so he took his troops to live in Sandizi's house. In this way, the actions of the Three Dizi family were monitored.

Should we send food to Comrade Zeng Biao in this way? With a good idea in her mind, she hid the meal under the dirty clothes of the whole family. Food was delivered to the river under the noses of the Kuomintang troops.
When she came to the river, she immediately learned that Comrade Zeng Biao had moved to the hole of a large tree. Comrade Zeng Biao pulled a vine down and picked up the food. In this way, The Third Dizi delivered food to Comrade Zeng Biao every day in the name of washing clothes, until the Kuomintang troops could not find it and retreated away.

Later, a hut was built on the back hill of The Three Dizi's house as a secret contact point for the guerrillas. And Sandizi also became the secret liaison of the guerrillas.

On the day of the Dragon Boat Festival in 1936, Chen Yi and several guerrillas came to the location of Pengkeng to observe the movement of the enemy army, which coincided with heavy rainfall, and due to the huge rainfall, landslides occurred in many places in Pengshan. For the safety of the warriors, Chen Yi led the warriors to the home of The Three Dizi.
When The Third Princess saw Chen Yi and several guerrilla fighters arrive, her heart was naturally very happy. Hurriedly beckoned them into the house and sat down. The continuous torrential rain did not stop until noon.

He pointed to the bamboo basket next to him and smiled at Sandizi and said, "Your mother's surname is Zhou, you are holding this basket when you send us grain and materials, you are contributing to our revolution, and this basket is also contributing to the revolution." It turned out that when Chiang Kai-shek's army launched a large-scale attack on the Central Soviet Region, Chen Yi had exchanged hands with the Kuomintang troops several times. At that time, Chen Yi commanded several model divisions and independent regiments, stationed in the Xingguo Laoyingpan area, responsible for blocking the 6 divisions of the enemy Zhou Hunyuan's eighth column.
Speaking of the old camp, we have to say that during the third "anti-encirclement and suppression" campaign, the Red Third Army led by Huang Gongluo, with the cooperation of Xiao Ke's independent Fifth Division, completely annihilated a brigade of the 9th Division of the enemy's main division, and also captured a new regiment of the 9th Division.
Probably due to the loss, the enemy's attack on the Laoyingpan area can be said to have been bloody. Not only were 6 divisions mobilized, several aircraft and large-caliber artillery dispatched, but a great deal of manpower and material resources were also spent to repair the road from Taehwa to Laoyingpan. It should be known that the old Yingpan area where Chen Yi was stationed at that time was only a few thousand people.
In the face of a menacing enemy, Chen Yi was not in danger. Under the command of Chen Yi, the fortifications of the old camp were methodically strengthened.

Faced with such a situation, the commander of the enemy army, as if madly, threw bombs at our army's positions, intending to use the tactic of sea of people to take the old camp positions, and the soldiers of our army also rose up to resist.
In order to encourage the soldiers of all camps, Chen Yi risked the danger of coming from the commanders to each position to understand the situation and boost the morale of the soldiers.

The huge impact made Chen Yi pass out, and the blood on his thighs also spurted out in an instant. After the vigorous rescue of the field hospital, Chen Yi was soon out of danger of life.
However, at that time, the enemy implemented a policy of blockade and encirclement of the Central Soviet Area, and due to the continuous war, the medical conditions in the field hospitals were not good, and medicines were still extremely scarce.
Although General Chen Yi was out of danger of life, his leg wound was too deep, and there was no suitable medicine in the hospital to disinfect and reduce swelling.
Therefore, the wound could not be healed for a long time, and even suppuration and ulceration in severe cases.
The CPC's Gansu-Guangdong Border Special Committee wanted Chen Yi to recover quickly. After a deliberate decision, they decided to send Chen Yi to Zhou Lan's sister-in-law's home for recuperation.

She went up the mountain to hunt to supplement Chen Yi's nutrition. In terms of medicines, she gave up looking for Western medicine. Because the purchase of Western medicine will certainly attract the attention of the Kuomintang troops, comrade Chen Yi will inevitably be trapped in a dangerous situation.

At that time, Zhou Lanyi happened to be washing clothes in front of her house, and in the distance she saw a large number of Kuomintang troops rushing towards her home. She immediately realized that something was wrong, but it was obviously too late to rush back to inform Comrade Chen Yi at that time. If you don't do it, you will be discovered by the enemy and hit the grass to scare the snake.
Just then she saw the pigs grazing by the river, and she thought of an ingenious way.
Only to see her pick up a stone and smash it at the pig, and shout in her mouth: "You plague pig, don't hurry to eat somewhere else, I didn't see so many soldiers coming, wait for the next road to kill you!" ”
Chen Yi, who was reading in the attic, heard Zhou Lanjie's cries and knew that the Kuomintang reactionaries had come to arrest him, so he quickly jumped out of the window behind the house and found a cave to hide.
The Kuomintang troops naturally pounced, and in anger, they took Zhou Lan away. In prison, the enemy tortured Zhou Lanyi in an attempt to get clues from her about Chen Yi and the guerrillas. But in the face of the enemy's torture, Zhou Lanjie never chose to compromise. She insisted she didn't know about it, let alone Chen Yi and the guerrillas.
In prison, Zhou Lanjie was tortured to the point of being scaled, and when the enemy saw that she did not say anything like this, he chose to believe what Zhou Lanjie said, so he released her back.
When Chen Yi saw Zhou Lanjie, who was tortured and bruised by the enemy and still guarding the guerrilla secrets, his heart was extremely uncomfortable, and he couldn't help but burst into tears.
He solemnly saluted Zhou Lan and said loudly:
"You are such a great woman!"
Things are human, and spirits endure
After recovering from his leg injury, Chen Yi turned around and threw himself into the revolutionary cause. After that, he led the army to skillfully maneuver with the enemy, while Zhou Lan continued to send intelligence and food to the soldiers.
And Chen Yi also used clever guerrilla tactics to make the enemy feel frightened.
With the establishment of the anti-Japanese national united front in 1937, the guerrilla fighters on the Border between Gansu and Guangdong, where Chen Yi belonged, were also reorganized into the New Fourth Army, ready to rush to the front line to participate in the War of Resistance Against Japan!

Since Chen Yi led his troops out of Pengkeng, he had not been able to return to Pengkeng, where guerrilla warfare had been fought, because of various affairs, and therefore he had never had the opportunity to go back to thank his savior "Zhou Lanjie". Knowing that Zhou Lan's sister-in-law was still alive, Chen Yi was also very happy, and entrusted some people to send some grain supplements. But Zhou Lanjie's body was already very bad due to years of fatigue, and she was still ill, although she also wanted to see Chen Yi, but her body could not withstand the fatigue of the boat and car, and she could not go to Beijing to see Chen Yi.
In 1964, Chen Yi decided to personally go to the border between Gansu and Guangdong to thank his father and fellow villagers who had helped him. But then for various reasons, he was never able to go.
In the end, only his wife Zhang Qian could visit Zhou Lanjie instead of himself.
