By the end of 2021, Kunming has built a total of 902 charging stations and more than 59,500 charging piles, and has achieved a public charging station of 1.5 square kilometers in the main urban area.
In the Kunming municipal administrative center, every parking lot is equipped with new energy vehicle charging piles.
Kunming Municipal Development and Reform Commission Electric Power Department staff Luo Yu:
"Like the first phase of these charging piles behind me, 341 guns have been built, and the municipal administrative center will also take the lead in playing a demonstration role, and the second phase will build another 120 guns, and after completion, it will become the largest single public charging pile group in the province."
As of December 2021, Kunming has built a total of 902 charging stations, 59,571 charging piles, and 20 substations. The overall pile-to-vehicle ratio is: 1:1.6, which is equivalent to 1.6 guns of charging piles for 1 new energy vehicle, exceeding the provisions of the national overall vehicle-to-pile ratio of 1:1; the ratio of public charging piles to electric vehicles is 1:3.5, which is equivalent to 1 public charging pile for every 3.5 vehicles. Kunming municipal new energy platform adopts the mode of "government supervision and guidance + enterprise market-oriented operation", distributed design, after the completion of the first, second and third phases, it can support 200,000 people to search online at the same time, with real-time data access capabilities of 200,000 new energy vehicles and 200,000 charging facilities, providing new energy vehicle owners with intelligent and convenient services such as charging navigation, status inquiry, charging appointment, and cost settlement.
Kunming has built public charging piles in existing parking lots, highway service areas, important business circles in the main urban area, important transportation hubs, important traffic nodes, public institutions and other places, and has achieved a public charging station of 1.5 square kilometers in the main urban area. In 2022, it will also plan to build 5400 public charging piles to realize the extension of public charging stations to townships and towns, forming a network of charging facilities with full coverage of urban and rural areas.
In addition to public charging piles, Kunming will also build 43,000 guns of self-use charging piles in residential areas this year, and a total of 48,400 new charging piles of various types will be built.
