On March 2, according to the news from the Kunming Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the charging pile group of the Kunming Municipal Administrative Center undertaken by the Kunming Power Supply Bureau of Yunnan Power Grid Corporation was put into operation. This is currently the largest single charging pile group and public charging demonstration area in Yunnan Province, with a total of 341 charging piles, which can provide charging services for 2700 new energy vehicles per day.
Charging pile put into use
The Kunming Municipal Administrative Center Charging Pile Group Project covers a total area of 640,000 square meters, covering 11 municipal administrative office buildings, as well as halls and comprehensive service buildings. The completed charging pile group consists of two centralized charging demonstration stations and charging stations in the ground parking lot of administrative office buildings and comprehensive service buildings, with a total of 341 charging piles, including 177 guns of AC piles and 164 guns of DC piles, which can meet the charging needs of 2700 new energy vehicles per day.

In addition, the charging station of the administrative office building and the ground parking lot of the comprehensive service building of the municipal administrative center is equipped with a total of 180 charging piles, of which 68 are DC piles and 112 are AC piles. All administrative office buildings and comprehensive service buildings are equipped with 10 guns of DC piles and 13 guns of AC piles, and a single site can meet the charging needs of 207 new energy vehicles per day.
The charging demonstration area of the municipal administrative center is an open charging pile group, and each charging station is fully open to social vehicles under the condition of fully meeting the charging needs of new energy official vehicles and cadres and employees of administrative centers. This will bring a demonstration effect to the construction of charging facilities for public institutions in the province, and build a new pattern of public institutions leading the use of new energy vehicles.
Provision of charging services to social vehicles
According to the plan, in 2022, Kunming will build 48,400 new charging piles of various types, including 0.54 million guns of public charging piles and 43,000 guns of self-use charging piles in residential areas, and at the same time, complete the construction of 25 replacement power stations.
