The police said that at about 10:20 a.m. on January 1 this year, Ma Mou, the owner of the mutton soup restaurant, placed a red handbag in a cardboard box at the designated location specified in the extortion letter according to the arrangement of the special case team. At 11:05, a middle-aged man wearing glasses appeared, looked around at no one, and quickly removed the handbag from the cardboard box, with a smile on his face. The arresting police quickly attacked and captured the criminal suspect on the spot.
After interrogation, it was ascertained that the criminal suspect Zhao Mou, with a master's degree, was a doctor in a hospital in Puyang City. Zhao Mou has been keen on stock speculation for many years, and recently found that the stock market has risen, and he wants to use the period before the Spring Festival to invest in stocks to make a lot of money, but he is suffering from the shortage of money, so he has the idea of extortion. He modeled on the plot of the TV series and used false information about the epidemic to extort and extort merchants.
According to the police, in addition to the mutton soup shop, Zhao also blackmailed another shopkeeper, but did not succeed. According to Zhao's relatives and friends, Zhao is suspected of suffering from mental illness and has contacted the hospital to conduct a psychiatric appraisal.
