Tesla's vice president of human resources will resign for only three years

Webmaster's House (ChinaZ.com) January 11 News: Valerie Capers Workman, Tesla's vice president in charge of human resources, will resign for a new role at another company. Workman has been with Tesla since February 2019, and her LinkedIn page shows that her position as Tesla's vice president of human resources will end at the end of this month.

Bloomberg first reported the news and said Workman will join headhunter Handshake next week as chief legal officer. Workman confirmed the change in an email to Bloomberg.

During Her tenure at Workman as Tesla's Vice President of Personnel, her workload included handling several notable lawsuits, including those by Owen Diaz. Diaz won a hefty $137 million in damages in a racial discrimination case that took place at Tesla's Fremont plant, where he was employed by a subcontractor. In addition, Workman provided details about Tesla's handling of COVID-19 information in 2020 and the closure of factories during peak periods.

In an emailed statement to Bloomberg, Workman said: "With the support of really good colleagues, especially the personnel and legal teams, I am proud of what I have achieved at Tesla. She added that she was ready to "pass the baton in a better place than when I received it," and her time at the company made her "believe that I've done this at Tesla and implemented so many important programs for employees around the world." ”

Workman held two other positions at Tesla: Associate General Counsel for Compliance from February 2018 to December 2019 and North American Human Resources from December 2019 to July 2020, when she was Vice President of Human Resources.
