Princess Pingyang: Sister of Emperor Wu of Han and wife of Wei Qing, Wei Zifu was from her mansion

In 139 BC, Emperor Wu of Han went to the home of his sister Princess Pingyang, and Princess Pingyang prepared a wonderful song and dance program for him. While enjoying the song and dance, Emperor Wu of Han also saw Wei Zifu, and he fell in love with it at first sight, so he took Wei Zifu back to the palace and later made her empress.

Among the concubines of the harem of Emperor Wu of Han, there was also Lady Li from the palace of Princess Pingyang, who was also able to enter the harem of Emperor Wu of Han through the recommendation of Princess Pingyang and became the favorite concubine of Emperor Wu of Han.

It is said that princess Pingyang also said to her kindly before sending Wei Zifu into the palace: "You must work hard, and if you are rich in the future, don't forget my introduction." ”

Princess Pingyang and Emperor Liu Che of the Han Dynasty were compatriots of the same mother, and she was a princess of a country with a prominent position, so why did she have to give "gifts" to her brother to stabilize her position?

1. The eldest princess Pingyang

Princess Pingyang and Emperor Liu Che of the Han Dynasty were both children of The Second Empress Of Han Jingdi, Wang Xian, who bore four children to Emperor Jing of Han, the eldest being Princess Pingyang, the youngest being Liu Che, and the other two were also daughters.

Princess Pingyang was originally called Princess Yangxin, and because she was married to Cao Shou, the Marquis of Pingyang, she was also known as Princess Pingyang.

Marquis Cao Shou of Pingyang was the great-grandson of the founding hero Cao Shan, who followed Liu Bang in his early years and made many military achievements, Liu Bang made him the Marquis of Pingyang, and Cao Shan, during the reign of Emperor Hui of Han, Cao San, was once an official to the prime minister. Because he knew that he was not as good as Xiao He, the previous prime minister, Cao San's method of Xiao He did not change at all, leaving a good story of "Xiao Zhi Cao Sui" in history.

Cao Shou attacked the Marquis of Pingyang, married Princess Yangxin, and was also awarded the post of Lieutenant of The Horse, who had been honored for generations and was a relative of the emperor and the state, and the life of Cao Shou and Princess Pingyang seemed to be extremely noble.

But Princess Pingyang obviously did not feel sure about her wealth and glory, and she also wanted to use certain means to do some "reinforcement".

Second, there is a sample

Sending concubines to her younger brother who was a monarch was not the first of Princess Pingyang, who had used this trick before was her aunt Princess Guantao, the sister of Emperor Jingdi of Han.

However, Princess Guantao, who was savvy in calculation, never dreamed that she was still exploited by someone with such a clever intention.

It turned out that Princess Guantao had a long-term vision and not only flattered the Han Jing Emperor, but also made suggestions on the heir of the Han Jing Emperor. When Liu Che was only four years old, Princess Guantao consulted with Liu Che's mother, Wang Jie, to give her daughter Chen Ajiao to Liu Che.

The two women hit it off, so Ah Jiao married Liu Che, and Princess Guantao helped Wang Jie and Liu Che's mother and son succeed in ascending the throne.

In 141 BC, the 16-year-old Liu Che ascended the throne, and Chen Ajiao was made empress, perfectly realizing Princess Guantao's miraculous calculations step by step.

Unfortunately, Princess Guantao did not calculate that Empress Chen had not been able to produce heirs for Emperor Wu of Han, which provided an opportunity for Princess Pingyang to present gifts to Emperor Wu of Han.

3. Wei Zifu

In 139 BC, the 18-year-old Emperor Wu of Han went to the city to offer sacrifices, and when he returned to the palace, he stopped by the Marquis of Pingyang to visit his sister.

Princess Pingyang had already made meticulous preparations before this, and she enthusiastically prepared a sumptuous banquet, and then let more than ten dancers from the palace offer a graceful dance.

Emperor Wu of Han was indifferent, and the dancers retreated after the dance.

Princess Pingyang was replaced by a class of singers, and Wei Zifu was among them.

This time, Emperor Wu of Han's gaze was fixed.

After the song and dance banquet, when Emperor Wudi of Han was about to return to the palace, Princess Pingyang gently asked whether she wanted to send Wei Zifu into the palace, and Emperor Wudi of Han gladly agreed, and at the same time gave Princess Pingyang a lot of thank-you gifts.

When Wei Zifu was about to get on the car, Princess Pingyang bid farewell affectionately and reminded her in a friendly way: "If you are rich in the future, don't forget my introduction." ”

After Wei Zifu entered the palace, he was deeply favored by Emperor Wu of Han, first giving birth to three daughters in succession, and then in 128 BC, he gave birth to the emperor's eldest son Liu Zhao, and Wei Zifu was made empress.

Prior to this, in 130 BC, Empress Chen had been deposed.

Fourth, the princess's family affairs

Wei Zifu was favored, and princess Pingyang recommended meritorious service, but all external honor and disgrace seemed to be unable to withstand the torture of fate.

Princess Pingyang's horse Cao Shou (曹寿) had a "Shou" in his name, but he did not live long, and in 131 BC, Cao Shou returned to his fiefdom of Pingyang due to illness and died soon after, leaving the young Princess Pingyang and her young son Cao Xiang.

Princess Pingyang' middle-aged widow, I don't know when she was mourning and weeping, did she realize that although she was a noble person, she could move someone like Wei Zifu as a pawn at will, and behind herself, why didn't she have such a pair of giant hands to play with herself in joy and sorrow at will?

Soon, Princess Pingyang married Xiahou Po, the Marquis of Ruyin, the great-grandson of the founding hero Xiahou Bao.

What kind of life the princess and the second horse had is unknown, but the historical record of Xiahou Po is: In 115 BC, because of an affair with his father's concubine, Xiahou Po committed suicide in fear of sin, and the fief was also revoked.

Princess Pingyang was hit more than that, and the year after Xiahou Po's death, the princess's son Cao Xiang also died, leaving behind his wife Princess Wei chang and son Cao Zong.

5. Mrs. Lee

At the same time as the family of Princess Pingyang was constantly worried, the situation on Wei Zifu's side was not optimistic: there were many new people in the palace, and Wei Zifu fell out of favor.

Fortunately, Princess Pingyang had sufficient support, and she presented Lady Li to Emperor Wu of Han, the "Northern Beauty" who was yearned for by Emperor Wu of Han because of the "Beauty Song".

Mrs. Li's brother was a court musician, and he once composed a "Beautiful Song": "There are beautiful people in the north, unique and independent." One look at the city of the people, and then look at the country of the people. Ning does not know the fall of the city and the fall of the country, and it is difficult for beautiful people to get it again. ”

Emperor Wudi of Han was fascinated when he heard this "Beauty Song", sighed and said, "Goodness! Is there such a person in the world? ”

Is there really such a person in the world?

Princess Pingyang happened to be with Emperor Wu of Han and quickly replied, "Yes, this Happy Man's sister is such a person." ”

Emperor Wu of Han then summoned the li family's younger sister, who was proficient in music, and his sister was no exception. Emperor Wu of Han saw that she was not only beautiful, but also able to sing and dance, and liked her very much, so he accepted her as a lady.

It seems to be a very coincidental thing, who knows how long the Princess of Binh Duong has been planning for this!

After Lady Li entered the palace, she became the new favorite of Emperor Wu of Han and gave birth to Emperor Wu of Han's fifth son, Liu Ji.

Unfortunately, Lady Li died of illness shortly after giving birth to her son, and Emperor Wu of Han wrote "Lady Li Fu" for her affectionately, praising her beauty and expressing his deep feelings of longing.

6. Marry Wei Qing

Princess Pingyang was widowed again, and her marriage became a topic of concern for the ministers of the DPRK, and everyone thought that the general Wei Qing was the most suitable candidate.

Wei Qing was the younger brother of Wei Zifu, who had been a subordinate in the Princess Palace of Pingyang in his early years, and as Wei Zifu gained favor, Emperor Wu of Han appointed him as the Jianzhang Supervisor and followed him, who trusted and appreciated him very much.

In 130 BC, the Xiongnu attacked, and Wei Qing was appointed as a general of the Che Riders, and together with Li Guang, Gongsun Ao and other generals, he attacked the Xiongnu.

Of the four roads, only Wei Qing won the victory on this road. Emperor Wu of Han was overjoyed, and immediately made Wei Qing the Marquis of Guannei. By 115 BC, Wei Qing was given the title of Marquis of Changping and was made the Grand Sima (大司馬), acting as a lieutenant and managing daily military administrative affairs.

Princess Pingyang was very hesitant to choose such a person as her own horse, because after all, he was her subordinate before, and he used to serve himself before and after the saddle.

When Emperor Wudi of Han learned of this, he smiled and said, "When I first married his sister, now he is marrying my sister again, which is very interesting!" With a wave of his hand, he agreed to the marriage.

Princess Wei Qing and Princess Pingyang accompanied each other for about 10 years. In 106 BC, Wei Qing died of illness, and Emperor Wu of Han gave him the nickname "Lie". In order to commemorate Wei Qing's outstanding military achievements, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty built a tomb in the shape of a Yin Mountain in the northeast of Maoling, which was buried next to his own tomb, and on the east side of maoling was a tomb in the shape of Qilian Mountain.

When Princess Pingyang was dying, she took the initiative to ask for a joint burial with Wei Qing. For most of my life, I finally have a heart.

Compared with the peaceful death of Princess Pingyang, Wei Zifu was still tragic. In 91 BC, Wei Zifu and the crown prince Liu Zhi were framed, and the injustice was difficult to identify for a while, and Wei Zifu committed suicide.

As a generation of kings, Emperor Wudi of Han was of course the last to laugh, but for him, the biggest tragedy was that Jiangshan was not entrusted. On his deathbed, because of the lack of successors, he could only have his 8-year-old youngest son Liu Fuling succeed him as Emperor Zhao of Han, and at the same time, he appointed Sima Huoguang, Jin Ilju, Shangguan Jie, and Sang Hongyang as auxiliary ministers.

The great drama belonging to the generation of Emperor Wu of Han and the Princess of Pingyang finally came to an end, and the glory and wealth, joy and sorrow, scheming and judgment, loyalty or steadfastness, were all delivered to the soil of Maoling.

As a woman, although Princess Pingyang was born noble, she did not even leave her name in history, and historians did not make any evaluation of her.

On the contrary, Wei Zifu, although he was born from a humble background, but because of her entry into the palace and the sealing, Wei Qing, Huo Zhiyi, Huo Guang and other people in the Wei family were reused, and the victory of the Western Han Dynasty against the Xiongnu was all because of the Wei generals who led the army to fight, of course, there was also a credit to Wei Zifu.

In the "History of the Family of Foreign Relatives", Sima Qian recorded more than ten concubines of the Four Dynasties, and Wei Zifu was the only one who received praise, and he praised her: "Although there is no merit of zuojun, there is a sage of internal help", giving her a high evaluation.
