We can calmly hide in the sky day and night, and the divided daily life is sincerely opened by Zhong Qiushi's "The Sky on earth". In the novel "Small" Things, "I" deal with the collection of books for his deceased friend Zhu Yiwei, leading from his bright life on the earth to his secret underground life. Paradoxically, the sky that has always been imagined as our earthly life can only be carefully moved to the underground (afterlife) by Zhu Yiwei and Chen Wan. Therefore, the so-called sky on the earth is only the reflection of the sky on the earth. If Xiao Bei, Chen Wan, and Zhu Yiwei, all of whom are innocent and nameless people like most of us, all bear the confinement of destiny to live on earth; at the same time, the sky above our heads exists, and it is also our imagination reasonable and necessary to arrive, then where is the way from the ground to the sky for Zhu Yiwei's "siege" to get out of trouble? The answer to the novel is precisely where the question is asked. The charm of "The Sky on earth" as a short story lies in the fact that it is opened through narrow incisions and bends its small and deep holes, and then excavates possible aesthetic secrets where it is impossible.
It seems to deliberately adhere to some kind of human limitations, Zhao Song never easily pulls down the curtain of the plot, but always maintains the restraint of the narrative, patiently tracks the complete cause and effect of every detail, and the characters also reveal their secret thoughts little by little in the dense daily life, so that we can perceive the subtle wrinkles, hidden desires, and buried sorrows and joys in the depths of human nature.
Tie Ning's "The Messenger" is an affectionate story of love and punishment, and a fairy tale of enlightenment and redemption. With the usual gentle and clear brushstrokes, the writer has created the image of the beautiful "messenger" Li Huakai - she is the rural girl Xiangxue who appeared in Tie Ning's works, the girl in red Enron, the little Su Mei in "Rose Gate", and the White Province in "How Far Forever". Along the way, their original intentions did not change, with the fragrance of pear blossoms and the strength of dendrobium, they grew into the plum blossoms in "The Messenger". Li Huakai jumped from the roof after learning the truth, which was a leap of faith and morality, and also a wonderful fight to enter the corridor of classic female character images.
4. "Peacock" Ye Xinyun
Two crippled men meet, and they carefully search for a possibility of consummation in each other's imperfections. They probed, groped, touched each other to a limited extent, and the deeper they went, the more they found scars and darkness, and life was simply one tragedy after another. Elements from youth dramas and Hong Kong and Taiwan police dramas almost all appear here, and advance rapidly, which makes the work not stay long enough on some key points, and the frequent use of dreams also makes the logic of the story seem less solid. Regardless, Ye Xinyun's "Peacock" is still worth recommending, she is a new author, but has a distinct personal style that mature writers can have.
5. "Fruit Hard Candy" Wan Ma Tse-dan
An unfortunate mother gave birth to two sons, one received a modern education and became a well-known doctor, and the other was a living Buddha reincarnated spirit child, who was sent to the temple. The novel attempts to find a reconciliation between tradition and modernity, faith and reason—and in the end the brothers seem to understand each other, but this understanding is not identity, but fear and reverence for the impermanence of life. Wan Ma Tse-dan's narrative is clean, concise, and restrained, which is a kind of anti-correction of the overly "embellishment" of contemporary writing.
6. "Permafrost Observation Section" Dong Xia Qingqing
Unknown life, unknown death? The novel, on the other hand, uses the process of death descending on the dead and the living to repeatedly identify the confirmation of the value of death. In Dong Xia Qingqing's account, people feel the need to fulfill a better life and a more solemn humanity than they are now; more importantly, they believe that people have the ability to strive for the realization of both. This is the most difficult goal. Because after experiencing the baptism of modernist literature, the narrative that carries the meaning of value must choose itself from the dogmatic moral appeal and the hollow personality symbol, and the literary narrative must bridge the gap between "cute" and "credible". Almost all of Dong Xia Qingqing's creations so far are on the way to the above difficult goals, and we have also witnessed the faith, patience and literary skills of a young writer.
7. "Late Spring" 33
"Late Spring" is a book of understanding written by the son of man rather than a colossal generation to his fathers. From 1972 of the father's generation to the 2021 of "I" and the father's generation, the long history of an ordinary Chinese family for half a century was collected in the "short story". The real bodies of the authors " Three Three " and Three Three names are invisible to the narrator "I" and "He", thus winning space for free expression, and the literary resources, memories of the times and personal experiences of those written by the younger generation are released, including the possibilities and limitations of Three Three people. Absorbed by the times, or thrown out by the times, the sons and daughters of the world end up facing only the world of their own bodies, and such a small world, for a single person, may also be unknown, obscure, and dangerous, so the sorrow, fear, loneliness, indelibleness, and the ins and outs of life as a human being are all seen in the rhythm of the narrative and the subtleties of language in "Late Spring".
8. "Vaulting Horse" Inside the road

Readers of contemporary Chinese literature who are familiar with the literary jianghu may naturally be familiar with the literary compendium to which every writer with a reputation belongs. Different literary syllabuses have their own roadmaps that can withstand the traceability of origins. Therefore, the anti-Japanese story of "Vaulting Horse", the ecology of rural power and the daily life of the villagers are not novels in the road, not the "seventeen-year-old light cavalry" and "fog walkers" that we are familiar with. In "Vaulting Horse", two former physical education instructors and reading langs, and now the main and deputy captains of the anti-Japanese team, their future China's imagination lands on training a child whose parents are both dead to learn "vaulting horses". The take-off and completion of the child's leap on the way to escape, placed in the historical time set by the novel, the pain of reality and the flight of imagination are exactly the spirit of the novel we are familiar with.
When everyone puts on a mask and everyone has only half a face left, the ego disappears and the story begins. The novel captures the universal feature of the present, half a face, both figurative and metaphysical, an accurate metaphor for the times.
"The Sound of Drinking Soup" is a very unique novel about a long and tragic history, which has influenced the fate of generations. Painful memories do not stay in grand narratives, but penetrate and circulate in people's blood. Chi Zijian's story born through a nightmare makes those forgotten scars awaken people's numb nerves through the most everyday way, and also transforms the connotation of the novel into a voice that will always ring through the clouds.
