In the Ming and Qing dynasties, the imperial family did not seem to be enthusiastic about sitting soup, but we can still often see words such as "sitting soup" in the Qing palace archives. However, in the palaces of the Qing Dynasty, there were not many people who could wash natural hot springs. Therefore, once discovered, it will be set up as a palace, no longer allowed to enter and use, but exclusively for the royal enjoyment. Two of the hot spring palaces are more famous.
The first is Qinghe Hot Spring. This hot spring in Benxi, Liaoning, the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, because of the hot spring and built a hot spring temple, the hot spring in the area is also known as Qinghe Spring, Qinghe Hot Spring, Qinghe Hot Spring. In 1626, Nurhaci came to the hot spring temple to heal his wounds. The official book records that it was a traumatic injury, and he was hit in the back by Yuan Chonghuan's cannon during the attack on Ningyuan City, and several months passed, and due to the rapid fire attacking the heart, the recovery of the injury was very slow.
Therefore, Nurhaci made a wrong decision and went to Qinghe Hot Spring to take a soup treatment. For safety, he also dispatched 3,000 elite Eight Banner soldiers to guard. The son did not bring one, only his nephew Amin, several concubines wanted to accompany him, and Nurhaci, who was reluctant to be close to the female in order to cure the disease, did not bring one.
From July 23 to the beginning of August of the eleventh year of the Mandate of Heaven, Nurhaci spent his time at the Hot Spring Temple, sitting in soup to heal his wounds while dealing with military affairs. Entering the bath, the water temperature is pleasant, the water waves are gently caressed, and at the beginning Nurhaci feels that the effect is really good, and the mood is very refreshing. Therefore, on the first day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, Nurhaci killed 3 cows, burned a lot of paper money, laid down the ritual of sacrificing the ancestors, and sent his nephew Amin to send sacrifices to the ancestors, asking the ancestors to protect him from recovery.
However, Nurhaci's spa therapy is not scientific, because trauma cannot be cured with hot springs, but on the contrary, it will worsen the condition. Sure enough, Nurhaci's condition was repeated, the poisonous sores quickly worsened, the germs invaded the heart, and he was old, and soon entered a critical state. Therefore, he hurriedly took a boat down the Prince River and returned to Shengjing, but before he reached Shengjing, Nurhaci died.
The other is Zunhua Tangquan. Zunhua Hot Springs were used by the Qing Dynasty empresses and began in the second year of the Kangxi Dynasty. After the completion of the Shunzhi Emperor's tomb of filial piety, in order to facilitate the worship of the gurudwara, the imperial court built a palace here to facilitate accommodation and sit in soup. Speaking of Zunhua Hot Spring, I have to mention Empress Xiaozhuang here, because she is a regular visitor here.
The Kangxi Emperor was very filial to his grandmother Xiaozhuang, and often took his grandmother to Zunhua Hot Spring to sit in soup. Mainly Because Xiaozhuang was not in good health in her later years, the purpose of the Kangxi Emperor was to ask her to heal her wounds here. So what kind of disease did Xiaozhuang get? According to official records, it was a skin disease, and it was very serious. Xiao Zhuang is most afraid of the attack of skin disease, which is extremely itchy as soon as it occurs. The Kangxi Emperor looked at it and was very distressed. Therefore, he accompanied his grandmother several times to sit in the soup treatment at Zunhua Tangquan,
One was in the eleventh year of the Kangxi Dynasty. This was the third time in the life of the Kangxi Emperor to xiaoling, and after his gurudwara, he accompanied his grandmother to the Tangquan Palace. Xiaozhuang said that she was in a good mood when she came to Zunhua this time, because the soup spring here is good, the treatment effect of her skin disease is very good, and she feels refreshed. The Kangxi Emperor asked his grandmother to stay longer.
At this time, the Kangxi Emperor's heart was actually very sad, because he and the crown prince Chenghu, who was born to the empress, had just died, and the empress had not yet come out of the shadow of losing her son and was lying in bed. However, the Kangxi Emperor was very filial to his grandmother, and he forced a smile and served carefully every day, staying for 73 days. Xiaozhuang was very comfortable, but the Kangxi Emperor was an empress who suffered every day and remembered her illness.
The second time was the seventeenth year of Kangxi, this time the Kangxi Emperor accompanied his grandmother to Zunhua, still for two purposes, one was to pray to the Gurudwara and comfort the spirit of the Shunzhi Emperor in heaven, and the other was to accompany his grandmother to live in the Tangquan Palace and sit in the soup to treat skin diseases. During this trip, the Kangxi Emperor was distraught, it was the key moment to quell the rebellion in San Francisco, the situation was turbulent, how could he sit in the soup with peace of mind?
The third time is the twenty years of Kangxi, the Kangxi Emperor accompanied his grandmother to Zunhua, but this time more than the previous two times, the first two are the same, Gurudwara and sitting on the soup, the third is the annunciation, the Kangxi Emperor wants to give the father who has been dead for 20 years, because the rebellion that shook the government and the opposition after 8 years of counterinsurgency, finally calmed down, this is great good news, we must comfort the ancestors, of course, filial piety to the grandmother, to the Tangquan Palace to sit in the soup, is also the main purpose.
