Latecomers come first? Samsung's new display technology has won 3 certifications, and the picture quality performance has been upgraded!

At the recent CES, Samsung's QD-OLED technology has caused a lot of heat, and the improvement in picture quality it has brought is full of expectations. Recently, Samsung Display officials also said that QD Display (qD-OLED) has passed three certifications from SGS, a well-known certification and identification service provider, namely true color tone, pure RGB brightness and ultra-wide viewing angle.

According to Samsung, obtaining the "True Color Tones" certification means that the color gamut of BT.2020 can reach more than 90% at a specific brightness of Samsung QD Display, and the color gamut that can be displayed according to the brightness of the screen can reach 120% DCI-P3 color gamut.

Pure RGB Brightness (Pure RGB Luminance)" certification means that Samsung QD Display can accurately represent the primary colors when displaying the RGB primary colors without losing brightness.

Passing the "Ultrawide Viewing Angle" certification means that Samsung QD Display can get a good picture quality experience in any position when facing multi-person viewing scenes. It is reported that when viewed from 60 ° from the side, QD Display can still maintain more than 80% of the front brightness.

Editor's comments: There is no doubt that Samsung's QD-OLED technology has a lot of advantages over the most common WOLED technology in terms of picture quality performance, otherwise it will not attract Sony to follow up for the first time, and the A95K TV equipped with QD-OLED panel was launched.

Of course, for Samsung, the significance of QD-OLED is far more than just to improve the quality of TV pictures, its strategic significance is equally important. Although Samsung occupies a lot of voice in the small-size OLED market, the large-size OLED TV market has always been firmly controlled by LG, and LG alone accounted for 60% of the global OLED TV market last year. With the help of QD-OLED, Samsung has the potential to catch up, although there are still certain variables in the production capacity of new technologies and product prices in the short term. However, it is foreseeable that with Samsung's return to the OLED TV market, the future is bound to have a certain impact on LG's market share, or will bring the OLED TV market from LG and Sony to a new pattern of "three-legged standing".
