So who is Hong Xuanjiao?
Hong Xuanjiao, whose original name was Yang Yunjiao, had multiple identities, first of all, the sister of the Heavenly King Hong Xiuquan, followed by the wife of Xiao Chaogui, the Western King, and also the founder and female general of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.
Why did Hong Xuanjiao change her name? This has to start with Hong Xiuquan, when Hong Xiuquan went to Bauhinia Mountain, Hong Xuanjiao told Hong Xiuquan that she had a dream ten years ago, dreaming that someone would come to Bauhinia Mountain to teach people to worship God, and God also instructed her to obey this person. This person is Hong Xiuquan.
Prior to this, Hong Xiuquan had also had strange dreams at the same time, saying that he was the second son of God and a messenger to the human world. The dreams of the two people are related to each other, and Hong Xiuquan believes that she is the daughter of the "Heavenly Father", so he recognizes her as his sister and renames her Hong Xuanjiao.
Since then, Hong Xuanjiao's status and reputation have also risen all the way and become a core figure. Later, hong xiuquan's god society number grew to tens of thousands, and he felt that the time was ripe to establish the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. At the same time, Hong Xiuquan took the initiative to let Hong Xuanjiao marry Xiao Chaogui, the King of the West.
After the Taiping Army occupied the city of Nanjing, it established the "Women's Pavilion", which is where women lived. Hong Xuanjiao was appointed inspector, and Yang Xiuqing, the Eastern King, was appointed as the governor.
At that time, Yang Xiuqing's power was very large, because Hong Xiuquan was addicted to enjoyment, so Yang Xiuqing was able to grasp the military and political power. However, many people were dissatisfied with him, so Hong Xuanjiao organized some people and encouraged Hong Xiuquan to assassinate Yang Xiuqing.
It was precisely because of this incident that the "Tianjing Incident" was triggered. Yang Xiuqing and the 20,000 soldiers of his Eastern Palace were killed by Wei Changhui, and Shi Dakai also fled to Anhui. After this incident, the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom declined, and in 1864, it was destroyed by the Qing army.
And Hong Xuanjiao's ending, there are many ways to say. The first was that Hong Xuanjiao and the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom were destroyed together. The second is that at the same time that Wei Changhui killed Yang Xiuqing, Shun took the female general who had a lot of power to kill. The third is that on the day that the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom was breached, Hong Xuanjiao fled to Shanghai dressed as a woman, and then went to the United States with tongyang missionaries.
I have to say that Hong Xuanjiao is indeed a legendary woman.
